Proc Chance on weapons?

Question for the staff or maybe someone who has done some extensive testing on proc chance on uth2. I am wondering how proc rates are calculated on this server. Is it a flat hard 10% proc chance for all crafted/dropped different weapon speed weapons or does it depend on weapon speed?
Or does crafted and dropped have their old values of 10% and 20% respectively? Koochi made the beta quit.

Good that you asked. I checked the code and its currently hardcoded at 2.5% per second. Means with a 3.0 SPD weapon you will have a 7.5% chance that the proc goes off.
I have the feeling that the number is a bit too low and can't tell at the moment where it comes from. If somebody can show different live results please open an issue for that. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

http://www.postcount.net/forum/showthre ... Proc-Rates
however prissy posted their testing on daoctradeskills back in 2003 showing 10% for crafted 20% for drop, but i no longer have the link. Kind of makes sense with the double proc weapons being added later which kept the 20% combined proc rate. Koochi made the beta quit.

Since proc rate is dependent on the weapon speed you can't say its plain 10%. A correct test would consider that.
If drop weapons have that advantage should still be confirmable on live. I guess live has a special field for proc chance on items so its more or less a handcrafted setting by GM's. A bit more investigation would be nice to see so if we have deviations there it can be adjusted. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

FWIW
1.54H Test version
Grabbag (2007)
Here are a bunch of hits on proc info from archives. When getting a live test I think from these notes it is quite obvious that we will need to be very careful to get a range of items tested since it is per-item as noted several times. Since we're on the subject of PROCs, I added a few additional bits as I suspect those aren't working totally right based on these guidelines above ![]() |

thanks for the replies but i think we all know it should be dependent on weapon speed.
since it depends on weapon speed then we can hypothesize that over time a slow and fast speed weapon will come to a common % proc rate. what we should try to figure out is what should the formula equate to in the end effect? 10%? 20%? should it be different for drop/crafted? They state many times it is per-item setting.

ok so back to my main question...is that how uthgard has it set as well? Koochi made the beta quit.

Read my response above. I said how it is on Uthgard. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

i did but what we have here now is one GM saying how it is and another saying how it should be. so where will procs go from here on uthgard? will they stay a flat (% * weapon speed) or will it be changed to a per item basis? also i know you already said "weapon speed" but i just want to make sure...swing timer modifiers(qui, haste, etc) are not added in to determine proc rate, correct? Blue told you how it functions on Uthgard NOW and that it should probably be adjusted.
In order to adjust it, more info is needed. I posted some hints around what we need to be careful of to gather the correct information. |

If its a 2.5% per second at the moment it would mean that a 5.4SPD weapon would have a 13.5% proc rate, which seems bit low, as it should be around 20% regardless of haste/qui/celerity.
This means that most likely the proc rate will be buffed overall. This also means that faster swing speed will be buffed. This also means that Midgard will be buffed ![]() To me it means that I did well in putting quickness in favor for my starting stats. Reminder to Self: Quality over Quantity, what is the Value here?

i know, his posts can be hard to understand, but this one isn't. if proc rate is tied to the weapon speed (but not to actual haste), then it favors slow weapons and especially Midgard. the all can wield slow weapons, have group celerity and the left axe mechanic. |
