wine staging source for DAoC

hey guys awhile ago i asked the wine-staging devs to make a vertex patch for DAoC. it is based on wine 1.7.38 and has CSMT support. you will have to apply CSMT patch then vertex.patch before building. hopefully we can get a uthgard launcher that works with mono.

Keep in mind that Uthgard does not work like other shards, nor does it work like live,
so if you can get those working with wine doesn't really mean anything. |

ahh yes i am very aware of the launcher issues. hopefully we will be able to find a solution. the main reason i posted links to the source is so maybe in the future others will have access to it. there is a known issue with wine and DAoC that required basically to disable the shaders which made the game not look very good. with these patches the game looks and performs quite well (why i posted the video)
so yes wine does run the game engine well. right now the only barrier appears to be the uthgard launcher. |

Have you thought about virtual Win on your *nix box? That's how I used to play. Works like a charm.

doodle_robot, if you run WINE 1.7.47 or later, all the pixelshader issues are resolved now for DAoC. WINE stable currently at: 1.8.5 WINE development is at 2.0-rc1 |
