Hi All, before add a new issue, i searched if already exist, and i found, but that is closed by the owner.

The issue is that : https://uthgard.org/tracker/issue/1630/ ... on't_pulse

Some people posted is not a valid issue because no evidence.
First @ all, i think this people never play a minst... but on any case :

Prof 1: You can search on ANY patch (use this http://camelotherald.wikia.com/wiki/ ), and don't exist a word about some change on that spell. You can found the spell here : http://darkageofcamelot.com/content/class-library-minstrel#instruments

Prof 2: (this is the real one)
https://web.archive.org/web/20030609060950/http://www.camelotherald.com/spells/line.php?line=950
this page is dated 9 JUN 2003 (exists pages more old, but is not relevant here)
this is the 1.65 patch date : October 8, 2003 (link if some people don't believe) : http://camelotherald.wikia.com/wiki/Patch_Notes:_Version_1.65

So, i need open another issue on track or just reuse (maybe reopen what already exist) ?

ps: very tnx to all staff, you doing a GREAT work with this beta.
ps2: i can add some screen shot about some other issue i found (minor issue) ?

Given that evidence (Camelot Herald >> all) I suggest you to reopen the issue and post your evidence there.

On an unrelated side note:

On this page you can also find the Paladin's Endu Chant having radius 1000.

I'm really happy to have some more feedback on that.

I think i will follow you suggest.
Ps: i linked this page just for show something BEFORE 1.65, i never play pally, so if something is different/wrong/strange, i have no idea. I try to proof the current description of spell (minstrel spell), also the song spell description on 2003 from official website :)

Update (tnx to Hitback)

this post confirm the mezz pulse (lol) work fine here in uthgard

forum wrote:OUR MEZ DOES PULSE!!!

Good god guys, our mez song does pulse. It just doesn't work like the newbies might expect.

Let me explain.

When you pick a target, and begin your mez song (no LOS check, btw), the effect will begin when the song finishes. If the target is in range, and in LOS, the target will be mezzed, and the pulse will end.

IF THE TARGET IS NOT VISIBLE, or NOT IN RANGE, the mez song will pulse continuously UNTIL the target comes back into range or LOS. At that time, the target will be hit with the mez.

I use this all the time to attack and defend keeps. I'll hide in the rampart, pick a target, and begin playing mez even before showing myself. Then, once the song has finished and I get the annoying spam (it's a feature, not a bug), I'll strafe past the slot in the wall, and my target will be instantly mezzed. When attacking a keep, I'll find a caster up on the wall who is particularly annoying, and target him for mez. Sure, sometimes I have to stand around for up to a minute for him to come back into view, but as soon as he does, whammo, he's mezzed.

This is a feature of our mez that MOST of the minstrel community doesn't understand. We've been complaining about the problem where a failed mez can only be cancelled by de-equipping the flute, but Mythic obviously doesnt want to fix that.

I will do more test, just make sure work fine the pulse according that explanation on 2003

Hi, as mentioned I did a ton of research on this prior to beta.

I read your report but I have no idea what actual problem you are describing. You're saying it should pulse, but I'm asking you what do you expect that to actually do?

Does the minstrel mez song allow you to start the song in range/los, leave range los, and when returning to range/los it instantly lands? Yes, and that is/was working here pre-beta.

Does the minstrel mez song keep interrupting it's target every 3 seconds? No. There is absolutely zero evidence for this outside of various freeshard(s) implementation. It doesn't do this on live and never has.

Is the minstrel mez song (being a song) is immune to amnesia? Yes, and that is/was working here pre-beta.

Should instrument quality affect song pulse duration? No. This is a common misconceptions on free shards but if you read all the guides from live both from the 1.65 era as well as do live testing today you will see that it is only CON and LEVEL of the instrument and quality plays no part in the duration.

Hi NeziX, my memory was on some patch between SI and TOA, and the only thing i thinking about the mesmerize song (alias mezz) was about the pulsing.
I try to explain better: if i start a mezz (around 3 sec) and i mezz a mob/enemy, if i keep active that song, that continue pulse, and if for example i change target, when the next pulse start, i have a chance to mezz the next target selected, whitout re-cast again the song.
I never talk about LOS, interrupt etc..
Reading the official documentation (you can see the link posted before), nothing say something about this pulse stop after the first mezz start (or resist).
BUT i also continue the research and my previus post (before your post) also describe a mezz similar that work here in Uthgard.
BUT 2) this post is almost 1 YEAR before 1.65, and defenetly 2 year before i start to play minst.

I'm not saying i have the reason, just opening a discussion to help the comunity to improve this server, and apply the right fix when needed.

So, i think the point of that discussion is about the pulse, if mezz should be re-casted or not.
Ps: you do a great job, and i'm sure have all answer about my dubt, i'm not contesting you research, just try to understand if that is the correct implementation and reflect the 1.65 patch :)

herald wrote:Target is stunned and cannot move or take any other action for the duration of the spell. Spells cast by friendly players, resistances to the spell's damage type, or realm abilities such as "Purge" and "Determination" can help to counteract the effect. If the target suffers any damage or other negative effect, the spell will break. Unlike other mesmerisation spells, this song will keep a target mesmerized as long as the song is sung, and a variable time thereafter. Only one song can be sung at a time.

This is the image and the description around the 1.65 days, directly from camelotHerald end of 2003

If want someone to prof me the mezz song is interrupted after the first mezz/resist, camelotHerald say that song pulse every 3 sec / mezz for x sec / 0 sec recast time.

I sort of understand what you're saying but as you said there aren't any patch notes that describe a change to minstrel mez song behavior, nor have I found any forum posts of players complaining about a change. That usually means that if you go on Live right now it should work the same way.

As of now, once your mez lands or is resisted on Live, it will not attempt to re-mez players or mobs.

The forum post you found is only describing the behavior of starting the song, leaving range or LoS to the target, and then returning into range/LoS and having the mez song finish. He even specificially says:

When you pick a target, and begin your mez song (no LOS check, btw), the effect will begin when the song finishes. If the target is in range, and in LOS, the target will be mezzed, and the pulse will end.

IF THE TARGET IS NOT VISIBLE, or NOT IN RANGE, the mez song will pulse continuously UNTIL the target comes back into range or LOS. At that time, the target will be hit with the mez.

That means once it lands, it's done. No more pulsing after that point.
