Let me tell you that I as developer can see how my code works and how it was intended to be. And no, it did not work as intended. The XP calculation for large level differences in groups had a mistake in the formula. That implementation was made like 10 years ago and wasn't touched since then. I have to admit that it wasn't tested properly. There were some more problems with the XP formula but they should be gone on relaunch.

Not like we told you millions of times :oops:

I really admire your good work Uthgard Staff !
Will there be any changes about the races ? For a real classic feeling, there shouldn't be Shars, Half-Ogres or Frostalfs !
I hope they will not be choosable in the charakter creation.

Can't wait to see the first level 40's roaming at AMG in dropgear :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Blue can you explain how getting Experience is going to after the revamp? Will it be harder, easier?

How will group xp be effected, I know a lot of people are going to compare it to origins and com plain and what not, but any insight would be appreciated thanks.


PS I thought leveling on uthgard was fine, I was able to level just about any char in under a week.

I have to aid to Blue's defense here. It is difficult to differentiate between requests for faster experience gain and actual bug reports. I wasn't aware of this bug either and I have played a lot on this server.

Experience gain will not be harder after relaunch. Afterall I would say it will be a little bit faster due to some bugfixes Blue mentioned earlier. But please don't expect miracles. We will not be the next instant 50 server.

any chance of trebuchets not costing xp? wasnt changed till cata or smth came out :D

We are not going to implement wrong mechanics for group XP. Our group bonus system works original as intended and rewards up to +80% group bonus XP for taking the proper challenge. Group XP dealing for larger level differences in groups will be corrected as said above and will reward more XP for smaller levels leveling with high players than before.

no one want an instant 50 server, but an huge, and for huge i mean really HUGE.. xp bonus, for a month at least.. can greatly help to "recall" player to their base.. not a week.. a month..

please consider that the complete wipe.. destroy ALL (morale too).. there are people that lose many and many toon.. and i dont know if they are happy.. give people a boosted xp rate for a month.. will be a little refund.. then Dev can ponder the situation.. and choose what to do.

After the month people will complain about the unfair advantage of the people, who were able to use the xp bonus ^^
If you are actually able to use the whole thing, it is a great idea for sure, but if not then there will already be a gap and sth like that wouldn't be very motivating.

Just look at Origins/Genesis. People are already asking for a wipe because of the people that took advantage of the zerg exp there and are now taking advantage of the paper door keeps. Don't need that happening here. 8)

complain for what? for making 1 or 2 toon at the start?

it's Daoc, the only real complain are for RVR.. having 1 or 2 toon more dont advantage people in neither way, but only can make people happy.

an xp bonus at start is in my opinion the best choose.. to make re-launch more attractive and "refund" old player for the lost of his year's work.
