if you downgrade your keep at midnight, how are you helping promote server wide RVR? it seems that you are actually only interested in getting people out for your enjoyment and not that of the server as a whole. This turns the "only albs and hibs care about the server" sentiment on its head surely? I can't answer for the Mids habit of not claiming keeps because I'm not one of the people who panic at the sight of a low RR toon unlike most on these forums, so tend not to go out on these mass keep runs. However i do occasionally look at the warmap and notice that mids have gone on a rampage and taken all keeps from one realm. I also notice that only 1 or two are claimed. My question is, how does a guild group claim all of the keeps that they take? Also how long does it usually take to upgrade a keep to lvl 9 or so ? I would guess the downtime needed to upgrade a keep (and doors) to that level would put a serious crimp in the rvr playtime you might have. Surely the only way mids can actually claim all the keep is it to either run in a pug with each member being from a different guild (assuming each member has permission to claim) or wait until there are more than one group out and share the claiming between them. I can see how this might prove difficult; but not just for Midgard. Is it also not true that on this tank-centric server that mids are at a disadvantage when it comes to defending keeps because we run with limited range dps? Albs can just stand at 2300 range and spam doors if they really have to and hibs have the best CC (and them damn place-anywhere-shrooms) so tanks might find it hard getting close to them. why claim a keep when you know for a fact that you will not be able to defend it unless you outnumber the enemy (or the enemy are stupid)? just some questions as i'm not pro or con this argument to be honest. |

Last night when I was on and tasking/going to thid/going to AMG/taking keeps, there were a fg of albs in Migard frontiers trying to take keeps. There was also a 6 man of BA from Albion out roaming around. At this same time Dottormettalo was running w/ a 7-8 man defending and trying to take keeps. There was also a 6 man of Mids that took Hlid and I'm assuming moved on to either defend or try and take another keep.
This all occured at around 7pm-10pm CST American. That would be very late for Euro players, but what do people expect. This is an international server so one persons prime time is another persons late night/early morning. I get that it sucks when you claim a keep and hope to defend it and the next day after you have slept you log in to see it was taken while you were asleep, but what exactly do you expect? Do you think the people taking these keeps are going to stop and wait for defenders? It happens to everyone at all times. During Euro time I cant defend because I'm at work, yet when I can I still claim keeps. If you lose it then just go and take it back when you get on. Also, this is at Borog who posed some good questions, I dont think that people are asking the Mids to claim all the keeps they take. Just claim a few. Hlid was btw. 9 inc, i was the Infil inside, and i get the count from your guard kills. The 5 or 6 man Alb group, that try to get the keep didn't reach Hlid quick enough, cause they where at the time that you guys hit Hlid at Hadrians.

Thane are groupable, i played mine some in group instead of my warrior, and did well with it. Just dont use ur aoe hammer, only for clean pet.

If you dont use your AE's if someone do AE mezz, then you can play your thane .. but the most thane players on uthgard maybe have only 2 buttons on the bars .. AE and a style ..  maybe stick too ^^I know some good thanes (incl you).. they know how to play .. but on mid you have more players who play the thane wrong  |

Well need to be used of it i think. I played thane in group when i was EdN like 3 times, but my warrior was already rr8+, so i knew what to do, but when i played her in zerg, ofc i used my aoe hammer, just for see how beautiful it 2012:<@[Uth]Abydos> If we don't have SI by the end of the year, Im fairly certain I wont be a GM anymore :-p

Well, there was 9, but only 6 of them were grouped. I was solo, a skald was solo, and so was another one there. They invited me but I was completing solo tasks as they were taking the doors down. |
