Okay...you can keep stealth. Just make it so you can't attack from stealth with a cooldown attack time...say 10secs after de-stealthing. Would be much more action in the frontiers instead of a fg of stealths camping chokepoints. |

There was an I50 OF Server that tried this a few years back. Prior to doing what you described above they had about 400 people on a night. After they implemented a similar change (basically removing stealthers from the game) they averaged about 40 people a night for a month and shutdown. The cause of stealth zergs is pretty simple. There are players who expect to WTFPWN all in sight with their ranger and/or viper3 assassin. And when it doesn't happen they group up in order to make up for their lack of skill. Now, there are SOME stealthers who just like to group with other people and thats cool. Every once in a while you will run into one of those stealther Duo/Trios of friends and what not which makes the game more interesting. But what you're talking about, IE the FG stealths at AMG... thats just pure lack of skill/thought/talent. And all realms are guilty. |

they should make a stealthing / buffing / healing class only server since it seems so many of them want to grp stealthed and camp. seems only fair to fight other non visibles.

why is it that when 8 visibles group up its good, but when 8 stealthers group up its bad?
You can't demand everyone go 8v8 on one hand but say "as long as they aren't stealthers" on the other. |

Cause its simply ridiculous. Its absolutely rare that a 8man stealther grp will find another 8man stealther grp. So grping as stealther (4+) is just to get some easy and fast rps by anyone you just outnumber. Its all about adding, leeching, zerging, red=dead (omfg). The short minded attitude of many players is just poor. |

It's not "absolutely rare" to find another group of stealthers. (Hint: AMG)
Personally, I don't like stealth-zerg and I don't join/fight it. But if you think 8v8 is the _only_ possible fair fight then you are mistaken. A proper 8man alb stealthgrp will easily kill 10 stealthers of another realm (Hint: There is one stealther-class that has CC and can use melodies and sos). Stealth-gangbang, in the long run, evens out RPs, meaning RP/hour played shouldn't be too far of for both sides. “DAOC is not about what you can log. It's about what you can play :> ”

I love group stealther action. When there is enough stealther incoming to accomodate it then I'm all for it. Anyone that has ever done well played stealther wars in the the frontiers on live or on Uthgard you know what I'm talking about. The problem is when 5-8 stealthers grouped up start killing every single solo and duo coming out to amg. Personally, how I get around this (on the rare occasions that I group) is when I attack a solo I will tell my group to stay out of it. If the person beats me solo then another in my group will finish him off. The solo enemy gets rps, everyone in my groups gets some rp's, and the solo is encouraged to keep coming back out or maybe even find a buddy or 2 to come back with him. When I played on live 8 vs 8 stealther groups at AMG, MMG, and DF were the most fun to have in the game. Also, when we run in groups of stealthers there is nothing saying that you cant go after visible groups. Most well played visi's will pwn you, but I've been in many 5-6 man stealther groups that killed 5-8 man visi groups. Most were pug's tho, but still fun. I solo 90% of the time, but if there are a bunch of alb/mid stealthers or adders that keep outnumbering me I will be glad to bring in the lil horde of Cove stealthers

every Stealther with more then 10 Stealth should have their Grp Invite /accept Button removed.
