My expirience was equal. Played an Inf mostly solo, sometimes in grp till OF showed up. 6lX and no chance standing solo at the end of NF and whole OF. I tried to be fair, but tbh I'm not very good at it (finger is always above the PA-button..).
Then they started to QQ about Rangers (which came out of nothing..) and I decided to be a bit mainstream and give it a try. OPed class, middle-class player = good combo to be fair and kill anything. First I thought the same way some ppl here think. "Oh nasty OPed Rangers, big Hib noob Stealtherzerg!!". But soon I realized that this is bull****.. As a Ranger, I couldn't even think about getting close to amg (close = 5000 Units ![]() But all I could see was Zerg, Add, etc. In the end I was ****** as hell and gave my Inf-account to a friend (sadly he plays REALLY bad..) and silenced my Ranger. IF I play on Uthgard again (dunno, maybe if some changes happen) I'll never play Stealther in RvR. I hope there are more ppl who think so. Would be cool to see less Stealther. This was no QQ, only a expression of my thoughts and feelings while playing Stealther on Uthgard. Kind regards, Fin PS: My decision was 100% right when I ran through BRAEMAR and got ganked by a lvl 35 SCed Infi+Scout-Duo which grped a 34ish SCed Minstrel after I killed 1 of their duo in a 2 vs 1... Hail to Stahlhagels lastname! |
|
while the others got only 2 kills when they doors were down. hmmmm To be honest... if you "attack" a tower or keep it is not imba or unfair to lose more people in the fight then the defending party behind the walls. Its acutally natural =) |

All the crying about OF and zerg stuff just sucks and it's always the same , some ppl will love OF and some hate it you can't find the right solution.
My Mincer is 4L8 now and i soloed 80% of the time i played , i'm really enjoying the solo stuff and if there's too much zerg in emain or if i get killed repeatedly at amg i move to Odins or Hw and there has been lots of action in the last few weeks. Always guard taskers and some levelers also ( i don't feel bad for killing lvlers tho because they must know the risk.) And even if everything sucks hard just get some grp mates to open DF you will always be able to solo there , especially as a stealther. but all the crying really ****** me of , daoc is not and was never designed for solo RvR. (but i'm still happy that it is possible in a way.) |

Hello Mythic employee. How come you didn't give any group utility to stealthers if that is how you designed the game?
|
|
Actually the "group utility" depends on how the player is playing his char =) A rupting PA with mass damage out of nowhere is pretty good utility in battle against a healer or caster when all other hands are busy ^^ Same goes for scouts with rapidfire, slam, mos ect. |

Not to forget, volley was pretty buggy back then, so if this were to take place in the current time, it might not be so easy to kill those ppl attacking the keep with just a duo. As for the review... well, i've said what i think a few times before, here's a small recap: NF:
could go out at any time could lvl decently with funny skirmishes better keeps and relics can avoid a zerg if wanted, solo or grp doesn't matter. not just the two milegates, i swam to mid or hib side frequently with my minstrel. I had 6 milegates to cross (if i wanted to cross em at all) in NF. In OF it is impossible to move toward the porting area of the enemy without crossing any mg CONTINUOUS MAP OF:
3 zones where two are hardly used so little water ukie keeps with dumbed down action compared to nf keeps it's classic i wont go into adding etc, since it happens in NF aswell. My NF opinion is based on the no port to agra version we played. Asfor, should we switch back to NF, not necessary i'd say, if somehow we can remove the milegate bottlenecks out of the equation. Being it a port to a owned keep, or whatever, any way to open up more choices would be a welcome addition. And offc an OF revamp with better xp spots, better pets, dungeons?, nf keeps. I'm probably forgetting some things and wrote some errors, i might run it through a spellchecker after my appointment ![]() |

Yes you are right, assassins and archers are totally designed with the group play in mind.
|
|
You summed it up perfectly.

Plz stop trolling ...
If you have another opinion on the matter please add in an argument and not just "you are wrong!" |
|
I like your grouped Infiltrator play-style, Evil, though it doesn't seem to be good for much besides ganking archers.

Fight fire with fire ![]() If I get invited into a nice group I would be stupid not to accept. And please tell me if I am wrong but I seem to remember that you did the exact same thing ![]() Also I could be wrong and you just attacked me by accident when a fg mids came across ![]() Anyhow this is not the matter of this post ![]() ![]() |

I'm not complaining. It's amg Emain. gg, gl, hf, life ownz.

Okay then I missunderstood
![]() See you later in emain |

Point of view from a wannabe Huntress (lvl 30 atm, just started on Uthgard, so no exp in real RvR yet):
I played live a long time on Mid-side. I enjoyed playing my Aughealer solo, playing my Hunter solo, duo and trio stealth and with my Pac-healer run PuG. Time brought many changes and those changes killed my solo-aug (toa) but I adapted and found new fun. Time changed to zerg, pro 8 and pro solo. With me playing PuG and only medium skilled solo I did not find any alternative for wiping in RvR against 1 or 8vs zerg or players well over my equip and abilities to play. So I quit, tried warhammer and lotro and am now really happy to have found Uthgard. (Thanks for that possibility with all the pro and cons to the staff!) Players themself have the biggest influence on a mixed RvR. If you do not run PuG anymore because you loose 7 in 10 8vs8 it´s 1 PuG less to encounter in all the sg´s. If you zerg instead of solo/small-grp/grp, it´s 1 player less for the non-zerg community. If you stealth-grp it´s 1 reason less to stealth solo for the other solos and one reason more to quit or stealthgrp as well. In my opinion the community itself on life killed the fun for the non-zerg, non-pro gamers. Same will apply to Uthgard (biggest thing I fear while spending weeks leveling to RvR). So for me it doesn´t matter if it´s NF or OF, for me the community matters. What I myself will miss is towers around the keep because unclaimed and claimed towers gave a lot of oportunity to cause some action aside from hot spots. I´ll miss the 3D water fights and, most of all, the possibility to go hunting without having to cross the mg-hotspots. Not being able to cross those because of zergs, stealthgrps or whatever would end in a frustrated quit once more as I would be forced to be auto-pulled to farmgroups on that spot without the possibility to go around and fight on other spots (not crossing wouldn´t help as other players can´t pass the other way around as farming grps don´t belong to one realm only). Kind regards Ami |

You're not the only one. Towers were the best part of RvR for a lot of people. Especially during off-peak times.
