I can't tell how it used to be before those recent teleportation changes since I only recently started RvR myself but I actually found it to be quite disappointing as it is right now. Very few action due to no hotspots, very few decent groups.

As far as rolling mid is concerned, you probably might want to reconsider this decision. Sure it's easy-mode when you play one of those dumb setups with five tanks but as you can see on Uthgard's herald, mids are pretty overpopulated in RvR atm. On the other hand, there's hardly any hibs that run a decent group.

Usually we have got around 100-200 active players within our frontiers (4zones: Agra+Emain+Hadrians+Odins). There are hotspots and especially group-rvr seems to have a higher acceptance since the porter changes - for soloers the porter changes are of course a bit harsh due to the missing insta-teleport.

We are currently working on the realisation of a few new features for our frontier RvR which should improve the gameplay for all types of players.

@ana: if you want to answer on such topics please tend to post more unbiased information. thx.

First off, it's still possible to get good and entertaining rvr situations... if you dont expect 10k+ RPs per hour in average (which were rarely doable BEFORE the change) you can have a lot of fun

imho people should just TRY and run, check the old hotspots, check the stablemasters (found a camper there most of the time), check levelspots... eventually you WILL find inc, even during hours with low population

and about what ana said:

i just LOVE pointing out how the population switches every month... last 2 months of all RPs made, hibs made 40, mids 31 and albs 29
during primetime, hibs were often running with 4-5 fgs, mids with 3 and albs around 2
now it has switched a little to mid again
and im not even gonna say anything about "easy-mode" ^^

At the moment it depends if you play Euro primetime or if your playing US evenings.

For the last several months it has been pretty decent for small groups and solo'ers and a few xp'ers during US primetime. Now that has all changed, due to some recent changes. As it stands now if your American and want to play in the evenings. Level 50 Rvr is non existent. If you like BG's there is still some action there.

So if your play Euro evenings and like 8v8 rvr this is the server for you.

Albion is the realm typically in most need of players. Seems Mid and Hib swap back and forth for the upper hand.

yes, i recommend you to play here cause its the best daoc freeshard out there. but the lvl 50 rvr is not fun anymore here because you dont find anybody.

but battlegrounds are very good now, expecially thidranki (44-49 here).

200 players that would be 25 fg's roaming around :) Never saw more then 3-4 at once (events not included). Unbiased information ^_^;

Haldan forgot to exclude all the crafting bots in the frontiers (which are around 70% of the total amount..)
lets see if the population in frontiers will change now that the crafting bonus is moved from frontiers to capitol cities

Hi Paraflex

<-- Elrondas-Merlin.

This is definitely the best free shard, but we need to bring more action to U.S. prime time. It's picked up to some decent small man the last few nights, but it's a lot more active during Euro time.
