the european version + installed DAoC Portal v2.4a

Problem is, when I installed the DAoC portal, I ran It, and on the "DARK AGE OF CAMELOT LABYRINTH OF THE MINOTAUR" on the loading screen when its almost done I just get stuck and my windows cursor appears (It didnt during loading). And I cant do ******, ALT-TAB doesnt work, neither does CTRL-SHIFT-ESC, CTRL-ALT-DELETE. Only thing I can do is reset my PC manually by the button on the PC.

Any ideas why does it do it to me?

My PC is (its really old)

1,8Ghz processod AMD Anthlon

512 MB Ram

GeForce FX 5500 Graphic card

Try allowing the game in your firewall settings before you start it. That may cause some problems.

TY very much guys, It was because of that firewall,


but now Im having problem on the same screen now its writes that my password is incorrect I hit escape and then there goes Portal window where is written:

"Service not available.

The client could not connect to the server specified. Either it is not online, or you used a wrong ip/port. If these are not the reason, you may try to update your client to an EU version, as this error is also displayed if the client is not supported by the server.

Ping google.com: success"

Im completely dissapointed. Did I mess up something?

Exactly step by step what I did was:
1. Downloaded the client from
http://daoc.goa.com/en/ the Labyrinth of the Minotaur
2. Installed it, hitted the patch, then it started downloading the 3,4 GB
client
3. I installed Portal
4. I edited update.dat

And Im having that problem

Problem solved, it was because someone already took my account name
