Sokoi !

So, during search over internet, find one day a usefull link in a french daoc related forum.

The weird thing is : You can watch divx/dvd/tv or any video will playing DAoC.
Not with alt+tab, not in windowed mod, but while playing daoc !
End of boring houres crafting and watching green progress bar.

Requierment :

You nead ToA at first and a quite good computer, especially memory.

--------------------------------------

The files you will add or change must go in your daoc directory in ui/custom folder. Make a save of it before making any changes.

Nota : you also need to have a customwindowxx.xml between 0 to 19 free. So the default one (in downloaded file) is 13 if you need just change in all tuning and files name itself to wanted number.

- Step one
Downloading the special files to add to your custom ui. > here <

- Step two
You have to choose which zone your player is. Most of windows media, winamp etc are zone 1.
Here corresponding between zone and sub folder of dl file :
Zone 1 = all
Zone 2 = ktv
Zone 3 = vlc

Here a link to see witch zone is your player - here
Launch a video with the wanted player, open a browser, go to the link and see in which part the video appear.

- Step three
In ui/custom edit asset.xml and before </Root_Element> or </XML> write this (use notepad for exemple) :
Code: Select all
                   <Include>custom18_window.xml</Include>
                    <Texture>
                        <Name>Gaap_magic_window</Name>
                        <File>custom/magic.tga</File>
                    </Texture>

- Step four
Now edit style.xml file and style before end (</Root_Element> or </XML>) add :
Code: Select all
                    <FullResizeImageTemplate>
                        <Name>magic_window</Name>
                        <TopHeight>8</TopHeight>
                        <MiddleHeight>20</MiddleHeight>
                        <BottomHeight>8</BottomHeight>
                        <LeftWidth>8</LeftWidth>
                        <MiddleWidth>20</MiddleWidth>
                        <RightWidth>8</RightWidth>
                        <Texture>
                            <TextureName>gaap_magic_window</TextureName>
                            <TopLeft>
                                <X>64</X>
                                <Y>0</Y>
                            </TopLeft>
                            <TopMiddle>
                                <X>73</X>
                                <Y>0</Y>
                            </TopMiddle>
                            <TopRight>
                                <X>94</X>
                                <Y>0</Y>
                            </TopRight>
                            <MiddleLeft>
                                <X>64</X>
                                <Y>9</Y>
                            </MiddleLeft>
                            <MiddleMiddle>
                                <X>73</X>
                                <Y>9</Y>
                            </MiddleMiddle>
                            <MiddleRight>
                                <X>94</X>
                                <Y>9</Y>
                            </MiddleRight>
                            <BottomLeft>
                                <X>64</X>
                                <Y>30</Y>
                            </BottomLeft>
                            <BottomMiddle>
                                <X>73</X>
                                <Y>30</Y>
                            </BottomMiddle>
                            <BottomRight>
                                <X>94</X>
                                <Y>30</Y>
                            </BottomRight>
                        </Texture>
                    </FullResizeImageTemplate>

- Step five
Now you need to have an ingame button to display the ingame video window,
for that you have to edit stats_combat_window.xml and add following lines :
Code: Select all
                        <ButtonDef>
                            <ControlId></ControlId>
                            <Position>
                                <X>5</X>
                                <Y>395</Y>
                            </Position>
                            <Alignment>
                                <TopLeft>true</TopLeft>
                            </Alignment>
                            <TemplateName>button_large</TemplateName>
                            <Label>TV</Label>
                            <onClickEvent>ToggleCustom18</onClickEvent>
                        </ButtonDef>

---------------------------

It's possible even if you done everything write, that nothing work.
Maybe your comp don't support it (need huge amount of resources).
Try to set up high priority process to the video-player in process managing window (under Windows).

All credits to Gaap (this link go to a french forum.)

Sincerly,

Pirith.

Much easier - just download the UI linked here --> Daoc-forum.de

It's called Daemys UI and is a mixture of Whattie UI and POD mod. The Video
window is also implemented -> chatwindow -> click daoc knot -> video.
Your game and your desktop need to run in the same resolution & color depth. Now launch your videoplayer and position it where to watch the video.
For example upper lfet corner - switch back to DAoC and position the black video window at upper-left, too. The video should now appear.

These Video Windows need much ressources and the video quality isnt the best, but for crafting it's just fine.

It's in english. Here's the translation of the UI description:

Well, all done at least ... ^^

The whole UI is based on PodMod/Whattie UI, so it is setup of many small modules which can be added or shut off if needed in game. Concerning thie module-system you have always only the needed stuff for a current class, but can add always more features.

You have got the decision between 4 different mini group windows (can be switched in commands) containing a Healers Helper. All windows can be chosen directly or via tool menu. The mini map is set to transparent for easier navigation and all maps have additional infos (OTDs, special mobs, towernumbers,...). Of course theres also a new Mount, Champion lvl exp and a new Weapon Style window within. Additional there are free positional Stick, Face, Sprint buttons and all standart features other UIs got, too.

Installation: Extract zip file into your custom folder (but delete the current files in your custom folder or backup them). There is only one style and all other changes can be done in game to fit the right class.
