Current Realm and Class Populations?

So as summer fast approaches I'm excited to get back into gaming and I'm curious what the situation is like on Uthgard now? The population is hugely different than when I was playing more last summer, and I'm wondering what realm and class I want to play.
Some friends and I will be starting out from scratch and I know it's a long haul to end game RvR on this server compared to live, something we're excited to accomplish. However, we don't want to spend all that time only to find out we're on the realm which has huge numbers and no opponents to fight, and also don't want to end up being one of the hugely overplayed classes. So, what is the realm balance situation like now? What classes are *generally* over/underplayed? I kinda want to play a healer/druid/cleric but I'm assuming there are a lot of those out there or not so much? Thanks. |

in general:
too many players stealth none solo players in agra: most of time small groups 3-4 players sometimes FGs roaming i should not say anything about zerg mode and the ones involved but its the same as usual *sigh* in BGs there is a lot variety, mixes of all of the kinds of battles, i dont like much BGs, since i like to work on my characters, most of my enemies dont stand much time. i would say everything is the same as usual just the farming spots have changed |

Just recently got to 50 myself and done some roaming in agra, and it seems mid day there is more albs, and some odd mids, and later on its no albs and all mids around.. but hey, havent played alot so dont take my word for it, just how i see it now... and hibs seems to be way more then albs/mids sometimes..

yeah i´ve noticed a rvr-population switch aswell. sometimes there are 3 fg hibs roaming vs 1 fg mids/albs . add into each other and then agra just dies
![]() hib doesn´t need more ppl . ty |

its harder to find solo players... but they exist /wave nixian ![]() worst thing is that you get a lot of adds onto solo fights... but such is life. Honestly, to stay on subject though, i think mid/alb are the two places that need the population. I can't speak for mid, but in alb I'm pretty sure we need more support characters such as sorc & cleric. Alb is full of tank/melee classes so i'd suggest a caster/healer. <img src="http://herald.uthgard.net/daoc/sig.php?name=Koami&s=4" alt="Image">

It fluctuates.
I started on hib in the fall of 08, shortly after animists got their shrooms hib got an extreme boom in population. I moved to mid shortly after. Since then I would say that there are tons of animists looking to find keep/tower action (most notably in the battlegrounds), but hib doesn't necessarily have overwhelming odds in end game rvr. Its up to you whether or not you want to deal with the animists by choosing to participate in keep/tower siege as an alb or mid. If you're looking to run small man with just a couple of buddies, you can generally find that or catalyze it by attacking supply guards of opposing realms after primetime which starts to die down around 3:00pm Mountain time. Really doesn't matter which realm you choose if you go this route, though I would say alb would give you the best shot of having a consistent supply of enemies. For small man and also for end game rvr I would not recommend rolling a mid, speaking in generalities the realm has a tendency to zerg unintentionally, or 'accidentally zerg' intentionally in order to beat better setup high rr alb/hib guild groups, although there is a regular alb group that frequently runs 10+ (accidental or not) and that without fail will boost the chance for mid zergage to commence. Occasionally if the right guilds are on, hibs are able to match the mid zerg numbers and there can be decent 'busy/zerg/add' rvr. Its not ideal, but its better than the alternative. If that does not happen, agra rvr dies, and that generally happens around the time mentioned. Lately my guild has been running 8 man post prime time as we are primarily US and only get the chance to run a non pug group around that time. Currently, the only way that we have found to really generate action without zerging small man in agra is to particpate in siege warfare, against hibs (albs don't have the numbers or relics to make this a promising investment in time) but if you aren't setup properly you will find yourself a bit disgruntled at fighting a shroom and volley defense. I'd say alb/hib is your best bet to ensure not being on an overpopulated realm in end game rvr , as of now their are 3-4 hib guilds/groups that come to mind that I have encountered during prime time and really only 2-3 alb guilds/groups vs the 4-5 mid groups that can run during that time....they just play more often and have certain above mentioned tendencies. If you're not planning on joining a decent guild or recruiting members on whichever realm you play with or picking up pugs to complete an 8 man group during primetime prepare to get zerged. That is how I see things as of now, anyway. I would not trade my choice to play on midgard because of the people that I have met and play with on a regular basis and we can always find a way to have fun, regardless of whether or not it means taking a more challenging route (choosing to siege during prime time vs participate in a zerg fest if that is whats going on) A small man battleground/8 man battleground with some sort of IRC setup or method of communication as seen on Eden would eliminate the tendency for rvr to die so suddenly, however that would conflict with the whole nature of the server and the reason why a large population exists here on uthgard. If all realms could reach an agreement amongst themselves and their opposing realms to not add on obvious fair fights (small man v small man; 8 man v 8 man; stealth v stealth) then rvr during prime time would improve and the duration of prime time would extend. But as is the nature of any war this is improbable, and reaching communication amongst all players on ever realm culturally and morally would take a lot of work and something more than this post. Hope this helps in your decision. Uthgard 2.0. Valleck - rr4 Shaman / Vallek - xx Healer <Thunderstruck>

/waves back on topic this might be helpful too http://herald.uthgard-server.net/herald ... statistics but more albs would be nice - esp at low action hours (almost always hunt mid at early / late night hours because there is just 0 albs out) |
