You can chose the weaponspeed you like most, just remind that you have a speed cap and you can reach it at high level when buffed, so with a weapon with too high speed you will lose dps.

Here you can find a speed calculation site:
http://www.geocities.com/draun/daoc_weapon_calc.htm

Yes dexterity affects parry and block rate. Here the formulas:
Blocking
(((Dex*2)-100)/40)+(Shield/2)+(Mastery of B%)+5 base (25 for arrows)
Parryng
(((Dex*2)-100)/40)+(Parry/2)+(Mastery of P%)+5 base

What do you mean with log analyzer?

No way to buy anthing in game with real cash, at least I hope

I guess there is no problem using a macro to switch if you are actively playng. Also there is no way to detect you if you do it I guess :O

I mean a program that reads my combat log (that I've saved on disk) and then tells me how many times I blocked and paried and what was my average dps and how much XP I gain per hour and so on.

I've never heard about a program like that. Anyway it's not so hard to create a C program to read the log and make those statistics^ if you have time and knowledge to do it you can try :P

If you put "daoc log parser" in Google you'll find many, but none seem to work. Anything is easy if you know what you're doing. Coding is not my thing ;)

Besides pen & paper I don't believe there is such a thing.

If I lose on a bid and go to the auctioneer, does he tell me something like "sorry, you lost.. here's your g, now beat it"? Or does the money just appear in my bag?

If you lose a bet it appears in your bag i *think*. If u win u have to go pick up the item.

try to bid again and look at the message it shows you. as long as you remember the char who bid on it you can´t do anything wrong there :)

One more question about blocking and tanking in general. For raid or mini bosses like Legion or Princess, is a shield tank really neccessary or even any good?

Here I go again!

Is archery skill (or recurve bow in my case) capped at my level? Im planning to be 100% sniper with my ranger, so its pathfinding and recurve only. Is there any point using +recurve items?

(No need to tell how useless I will be. This is a BG toon and only meant for duoing with a shade. He takes care of the melee.)

moar!: I faintly remember there being somekind of command for mapping quickbar keys on other keys, like mapping quickbar3/key8 to for example "Q". Is there? And are there commands for ordering the pet around? Like attack, passive and so on?

1. yes - more dmg afaik (capped at like 65 or something if i remember)
2. yes /qbind 2 1 1 will bind key 1 quickbar 1 on number2 "row" to next pressed key
3. i believe if u shift - click on attack, etc on ur window u will get a macro for ordering pet around to put on quickbar - not sure if thats just my UI tho

if it is - look up emerikol - great UI
