I belive this formula:
Effective DPS * (your WS/target AF) * (relic bonus) * (1-absorb) * (1-base resists) * (1-RA resists) * slow weap bonus * 2h weapon bonus * SPD * Arrow Bonus is correct. If you calculate your dmg with this formula you will see dmg on Uthgard is possibly a bit lower than on live but still not that far away:) A few tips how to calculate: Effective DPS = Clamped Damage * Quality(%) * Condition(%) where: Clamped Damage = 1.2 + LVL * 0.3 2h weapon bonus = 1.1 + (0.005 x spec) Slow Weapon bonus = 1 + ( (spd - 2) x 0.03) where : SPD = listed weapon speed. and: Arrow Bonus = 0.85 for (light damage) Blunt Suffixed arrows 1.0 For (medium damage) normal arrows 1.25 for (Extra-Heavy Damage) Broadhead Suffixed arrows Taken from: http://talsyra.tripod.com/daocmechanics ... anics.html Oryginaly posted: http://web.archive.org/web/200402120230 ... rchery.htm |

I would get 1K+ critshots pre SI let alone TOA and relics, one shotting casters was common for real archers. (before spell crafting)
I started my huntress because my SM (fully buffed and blade turn up) was one shotted from a scout in OF I thought wow !! that rocks I want some of that !! |

hey cespx, thanks for that website url to the scout tls page. I was looking for an old copy of that page but archive kept saying it couldnt produce it due to robot.txt...sigh.

If you are on keep and you see an enemy outside don't attack them from the keep, jump down because hey, life is supposed to be fair! Oh and "he works much for the forum, but only for his benefit"!? Shame on him! ![]() Damn, I wish I could work much for the forum, I could get all kinds of benefits ![]() The world will look up and shout "Save us!"...and I'll whisper "NO U."

Well so far in my testing, at 1734 ws, 50 +13 bow a cloth target took 329-463 damage. With critshot that would be 658-926. Now the question is here i guess..what are we talking about here; crit shot damage post resist or vs a target with no resist. The damage i just listed is vs a target with zero resist, so are you guys saying that you can hit a cloth wearing target with full resist (possibly even full physical defense 5) for 1000, or are you talking about hitting an untemplated newbie caster for 1000+, a low level caster? A phys def 5 caster would bring this damage down to 493. Oh and this is with a 5.5 speed bow. A 5.0 speed bow does considerably less..so if a hunter is supposed to be hitting cloth target for 1000+ then that would mean i would be hitting for in excess. Ill give you some comparative data from live using a two handed weapon and 145 strength (keep in mind that if this were a bow, broadhead arrow bonus adds 25% on top of this) a 5.0 speed weapon with 975 ws, 51 spec did 163-229 vs a cloth target. a 5.0 speed weapon with 975 ws, 51 spec did 163-229 vs a leather target (yes on live, leather and cloth users have the same effective af/abs with caster self buffs up.) a 5.0 speed weapon with 975 ws, 51 spec did 147-206 vs a reinforced target. a 5.0 speed weapon with 1804 ws, 58 spec did 227-320 vs a scale target. a 5.5 speed weapon with 1804 ws, 58 spec did 253-357 vs a scale target. So essentially the damage difference between 5.0 speed and 5.5 speed is 11.5%. More testing..405 strength celtic spear spec hero a 5.5 speed weapon with 2081 ws, 62 spec did 352-499 vs a leather target. a 5.5 speed weapon with 2081 ws, 62 spec did 319-449 vs a reinforced target. a 5.5 speed weapon with 2081 ws, 62 spec did 277-400 vs a scale target. 352-499 Since we know that leather has the same effective abs as cloth, that means 499x2 = 998 at 2081 ws and 62 spec with a 5.5 speed weapon. With arrow bonus this would be 1248 damage before resists. With phys def 5 and full resists this would still make for a max possible of 375-664 range crit shot on a cloth user at that weaponskill. A 5.0 speed weapon would be 336-595 Now here is something i found quite interesting about uthgard using broadhead arrows.. a 5.5 speed bow with 63 spec 1734 ws does 329-463 vs cloth a 5.5 speed bow with 63 spec 1734 ws does 340-480 vs leather As you can see...cloth users here actually take LESS damage than leather wearers. |

i am talking about a templeted caster level 50 after resis..my ranger managed it, and my scout (even if she is highlander) made it too.
ranger used red D/Q selfbuff with +90 D/Q ranger has 45+13 bow scout used dex bottle and D/Q-charge with +75 value (but got specbuffbonus of 125% so i had als +93 effektive, which is wrong by the way..charges do NEVER get spec-buff-bonus). scout has 43+14 bow i miss my Lady....

That's pretty interesting because the dex/quick charge from the dropped cloak in hib cursed forest doesnt get a spec bonus. So if this is true then that implies that drops in different realms or perhaps only certain kinds of drops, are improperly receiving additional bonuses. That may explain some things... As for achieving 1k crit shot on an uthgard templated caster, ill believe that when I see it I suppose. In any event, if that even is possible on uth, its not possible on live with the testing conditions I used. 2086 ws at 62 spec certainly doesnt bring a crit shot anywhere near 1000 after resists. The max potential was 664 at 16 effective dps and 5.5 speed |

i forgot you to tell which weapon i use..
both use basalt bow from DF with 5.7 speed, 16.5 dps and of course MP quality. i miss my Lady....
