I heard from different Sources that the Bow Damage on Uthgard is too low.
Where can i learn how to calculate Damage ?
We need Facts, Numbers, Formulas, Proof to get the Bug fixed, if there is one.
All i know is that my low level Ranger, doing the Bow-Autotrain thing,
can kill green Mobs with the Bow alone (and some luck).
In RvR, things get complicated. My poor Blademaster, not 50 yet,
got pwnd really good 2 times by an enemy Archer.

So, whats wrong with Archery Damage ?
A proper Bugreport might help.

Well if you have level 50 non rr5 characters on hib, i can always use a hand in testing. I tested bow and two hand melee damage on live and have concluded that on live, bow damage is equivilant to two hand damage mechanics except bow also receives a multiplier based on arrow type (light, normal, x-heavy). I however need comparative data on uthgard to be able to determine how far away uth is from the live testing (if it is any different at all that is).

But archery system on live was changed, so i doubt is reliable source now

he must talk about the older system, were it was a reliable source.
in the new archery system the damage could be compared to spells (maybe) but not to any weapons, also it doesn't feature any kind of arrows anymore (only a dmg type change spell)

The old archery system on live, lives on in the armsman crossbow mechanics. You can for example, get various speed/dps crossbows and the damage there will be the same damage done if using a bow as they share the same system. I tested this on live already between crossbow and two hand weapons and the damage is comparable, which is why i have concluded that two hand and bow damage are equivilant. Bow damage of course receives an additional multiplier based on the arrow type used, so a broadhead arrow/bolt will do twohand damage x 1.25

I know old archery.
I would get 1k+ shots every time I played.
With 50+ 10+ bow spec, with weapon skill from 1902 to 2104 and dex as high as 406.
I never bothered taking screen shots because it wasn't uncommon.
With new archery my overall damage dropped... sure I could do far more stable damage but I could no longer snipe the casters like before. The huntress is no more then a PVE god now.
I do not have a high lvl archer here mine is lvl 24, I seem to do decent damage with a 99 qual player crafted bow.
If archers are not doing 1k+ crit shots here I doubt I will go past Braemar with this toon.

ofc I suck, and I can't have 406 dex on classic / rr4.

if I remember right (it has been some time now since I quit playing my hunter for reasons that can be considered whine or n00bishness) ~600dmg was the highest I could get on sc'ed etc casters, also most casters are grouped.

Even with less then 400 dex I was getting 1k+ critshots.

just a short post to zippitys work. yes- he works much for the forum, but only for his benefit. in rvr, he is one one the greatest wall and keepcamper if ever seen. are u scared of real rvr ?

I am somewhat surprised and saddened to see the first half of this statement, but i wont comment on it further than to ask that if you really feel this way, then perhaps you should check some of my other work through out the various forums. I think you will find that I do not focus my testing on my own class, nor even my own realm.

As to the second half of the statement, I just have this to say,

Possibly with relics and/or toa bows with bonus damage. Even so, that is definitely not possible on uthgard even with 1900 ws.
