What would make you play in Agramon?

Hello,
we have a nice talk about todays RvR situation and as it seems the whole problem of Uthgard and Agramon is: why ppl dont want to leave BGs and join RvR in Agramon. The goal of this topic is to hear (or read ![]() This part is really important so pls read it twice before posting anything. IT IS NOT a topic about RvR situation, flames about zergs or anything else what wont help, so please prevent yourself from writing any useless comments. There are other forum sections made for flames etc. Please behave and communicate with respect to your readers and to the Staff:) Cespx |

If i understand you right ^^
I got 2 Group chars for argamon and 1 Solo char BM/Druid and Ranger And 3-4 days out of the week one of those group chars is needed ^^ |

...because they are used to level up a toon to let's say 30, then go BG until they cap out and start all over again. They don't even have someone to stick with, even if they would like to go to Agramon some day. There are not many exp groups these days and solo exping really takes too long. So they stick with what they know how to do. If they found their way to Agramon one day - despite all the exping - they wont get a grip. Without a guild they don't get much invites, if they get invites, it wont be for long because they might not have a good armor and don't know how to play their chars properly. The barrier between old and new Agramon players is too big. And since the community isn't really big enough to produce one guild after another, each with new players, a lot of players are just left behind. This is kind of the reason Midgard has so many players in Agramon at the moment. The Nomad Jarl alliance invites almost every new player and takes them along into RvR. I can't think of any possible solutions to that problem, except maybe to improve the Advisor system or implementing the /gu of the starting guilds into some IRC channel where volunteers can answers to the beginners. I know it's a little far-fetched, just can't think of anything else right now. Last edited by pantal00n on Dec 25, 2008 12:43, edited 1 time in total.

I think there is too kind of group in rvr :
The imba roxing group, old player high rr full rc etc, who never group newbie but pwnd Agra, and the "Noobing" grp, they're always looking for group but they never found one and finally create one where all player are accepted, but they never really kill anything and try to leech and get farm by high rr grp That's why BG's are more attractive, they're isn't any high rr who played on uthgard since 5 years etc..., so there's only "noobish" people who always get a group and are able to kill ennemies with balanced fight and don't get disband if they make a mistake or something, it's like they play for fun instead of people in agra who just really want to get high rr or some "Bane of Midgard" title thing. (Yeah my english sux, really !, /bow if you understood anything ) ![]() Last edited by Darksoldier on Dec 25, 2008 01:59, edited 1 time in total.

Its all perfect. It just takes to long to XP to 50. I have 2 50's and I would like one more so most of my time is wasted looking for a group for xp.
So in my opinion. Speed up xp before lvl 47. |

where to start ?
if i log in, port to camp and get killed by a fg standing in the middle of guard corpses, thats really a bad start for rvr. well, if i finally make it alive ouside the mg, there is already a bunch of stealthers waiting in the doorway. but wait, after 1h i have found 3 or 4 people to group with (yes, not everyone is allowed to join a highskilled highrr roxxorgroup, you need those special connections), so the stealthers wont attack us, great ! so i run outside with my buddies from bg straight into a zerg of rr5+ clowns. if in good mood, we repeat that 3 or 4 times and quit frustrated. guess, you wont see most of us in agra for a while again... conclusion: agramon is a private zone for people who spend (too?) much time there, with high rrs and stem groups (you always see the same people there, noticed?). besides changing agramon to a zone with safe teleport keeps, a solution might be to open the bgs up to rr5. |

my opinion about agramon (i a mdrunked so maybe some problems while typing my post)
on alb you can invite anybody till the openents are not to high. ususally in groups you have lot of unskilled players so geting new players is not a problem. But when you see that you get lot of high RR in front you have no other choice thant getting skilled players. i know i am missing skill and i need some RR to feet to the usual agra rvr, but i think with some nice people it s possible to have fun. at least on alb (i dont know on others realms) you have your place if you are not bad and try to play well.... sure if you rush middle of the enemies when your groups tries kiting, it s a problem... i think everyboy can be skilled, but that needs some times. have fun in BG and be the best one of the BG. i played a bit in bg and i can tel you that it s not easy everytime, ot of good player reroll there and it s a challenge. i think to get more people you need more people that agree to run in random groups, and more poeple that want to join agra and try to be better <img src="http://www.fallenearth.fr/daoc/daoc2.php?player=Panachou">

agra rvr:
my playstyle =60% solo, 30% small groups, 10% fgs Solo :is fun for me cause you can do whatever you want, be afk as much as you want, and log whenever you want. I get instakilled alot by infiltrators, am rolled over alot by small groups /fgs. But I can avoid these groups and stealthers most of the time and seek out a way to add on a battle or to find a soloer/duo to fight with. small groups: I usually go in small groups when there are friends in agra and we want to team a bit for the fun of it or when hib soloers are killed alot and we decide to get revenge. FG: I go only in fgs to get a keep or tower, or when there are only fgs running around in agra. This is how I spend my time in agramon. ![]() |

If everyone would do this, it would surely make agra more fun. I've seen so many situations where groups just stand still at their border keep because the other realm(s) are running around with a pretty strong FG while their own is just 7, lacking a healer or CCer and thus not standing much of a chance. So what happens is that they don't move untill they get their 8th man. Now all this time they're just waiting for someone while they can only hope for this class to log on. This is boring as hell, and so is getting rolled over and over by a kick ass FG. Anyway, if nobody shows up, they're forced to get steamrolled or log off if they consider 8v8 the only way to RvR. However, mostly it's hard to find opponents of similar strength/numbers if you're not a fg... A BG attitude in Agra would be great tbh. However on the other hand it would only make setup FGs even stronger... :s I really can't see a quick solution to this besides a higher server population to make sure there's targets for every playstyle. |

So we already have 2 or 3 ideas:
1. Better rp bonus for killing much higher rr enemy. Like double rps for 5-6 rr difference. 2. Rp/Exp bonus for losing realm. I dont really know if it's possible... Population bonus would not change much cause mostly mid (only as example) wipes much bigger grps. 3. Advisor system + starter guilds irc channel available for everyone. I dont know how it looks atm but /advisor command could really be nice. Starter guilds channel would also help many players to get importatant infos. Of course those channels shouldnt have ".w" command available ![]() That's all for now. |
|
we have that channel already, its called /broad.
the advise you get is: "fg at camp, dont port", "2 fg camping mg", ... really helpfull for new players. |
|
I really dislike any rp bonus.
However I think we can solve two problems in uth with one solution. first problem :Cash. I know a lot of people who have problems with cash and with the lowering of droprates in pve hey can't farm as good as they used too. Second problem: agra rvr population. My solution: 1: the guild or realm that owns a keep or tower earns cash in he time that tower or keep is in is possesion. 2: I suggest that keeps and towers in frontiers build up cash in time when a realm owns them. When a realm conquers the tower or keep that amount of cash will be looted. In my view rps represent the amount of skill and time that people spent in agramon. Cash however can be used as a stimulans for people to venture in agramon and get rich ![]() So if you take a tower that is owned by a realm for a long time you will get good amount of cash, when it's just conquered you will get only a little. But the incentive to get it anyways is that everybody (maybe every account..or just guilds)in the realm may earn a little cash everyday by owning the tower. We tried using xp and rp incentives, that didn't work well..let's try the cash incentive now. Greets Taz ![]() |

I've already made some recommendations in several threads on how to combat the multitude of issues that make up this "problem" of having a more dynamic and welcoming rvr experience.
You can read the original proposals in these threads as I still stick by the points I made. http://uthgard-server.net/modules.php?n ... c&start=15 http://uthgard-server.net/modules.php?n ... c&start=30 In response to cespx, I think a rp penalty should be in place for higher rr players attacking lower rr players in addition to a large bonus given to lower rr players when fighting higher rrs. This would give less incentives/rewards for high rr players picking on lower rr players or groups that dont have teamspeak / best setup etc. This wouldnt penalize players who attacked individuals at their own realm level and would in fact encourage people to stick to fighting opponents of equal skill/level whenever possible as there would be more reward in doing so. This would also give less incentive for logging out to "join in the farming" of the lower rr/less well built groups when people spot who is in the zone. Population bonuses should only be applied (imo) when looking at active participation (meaning people who actually go into the zone and engage in fights) in a particular rvr zone. |

What would bring me to Agramon:
A faster exp (I'm tryng to raise a rvr char but I'm lv 34 and I'm playng from few month only that char ![]() Many people running in solo/little group/8man group in a bigger rvr area to not add/zerg |
