i installed daoc portal lots of times, tried everything but still it says "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this program." how can i fix this problem?

Lets try it step by step ok.

First thing you need to do is install Microsoft NET. Frame 2.0 or higher.
Second step is installing DAOC at the web site and follow the instruction to install the Atlantis, Catacombs and if you like to go further install the Darkness, which are free trial. If you have the complete game like I do from EA then install it.

This is important, once install do not upgrade from the DAOC main server just install the game parts and then wait to upgrade as follow below.


Third thing, Install Portal -
Once DAOC Portal is in-stall
A. Open DAOC PORTAL and select File

B. Tab to Client and DAOC Installation the Browse button and look for the game.

Example: c:\Mythic\catacomb, or Darkness, or Labyrinth IF you have the complete game from EA, then it would be c:\Electronic Arts\Labyrinth
Please remember that if you never had DAOC or played it on the real server it would be wise to install the game from the site, it will explain to you what you need to install before playing it the free trial.

C. Once selected you still need to stay on the Client Tab Setting to select EU Version option button, not US and whatever version you are using select the Combo box that will say above it Expansion and pick Labyrinth or again whatever you are using or have install, also select whatever language you are using.

D. Once that is done, the same place at the Client tab select Patch button and it will install the latest EU Version

E. That should work and if you still have any problems I can help and maybe what we can do is chat on any program to help provide you in more detail.

I believe there is at the forum start page that explains how to install it but in case this should help.
