After ranius post I saw better combat logs.
Today I had some fights and these are the number I saw with same celerity, same hammer, same buffs: Fullbuffed with celerity and 2h weapon on blademaster = 240-250 dmg (styled) Fullbuffed with celerity and 2h weapon on valewalker = 98-101 dmg (styled) Fullbuffed with celerity and 2h weapon on hero = 170-180 dmg (styled) Not buffed with no celerity and 2h weapon on mentalist = 170 (styled) Blademaster got 19% abs and weak to crush (-10% resist) = total 9%+26 from item Valewalker got 33% abs and neutral vs crush = total 33%+26 for item Hero got 27% abs and strong vs crush (+10% resist) = total 37%+26 for item Mentalist got 10% abs and neutral vs crush = total 10%+26 for item Even if ment got phisical defense, he can't reach enough resist to take only 170 dmg. I explain this only in 3 ways 1- Cloth is not neutral to all dmg type 2- Abs is wrong calculated in dmg taken 3- Resist bonus/malus is much higher than 10% PS I'd like to know from a staff member if the malus/bonus of armors is really 10% or maybe I'm wrong I didn't forget the armor factor, but it just increase with abs, so af is cloth<reinf<scale I think I counted all stuffs which determine dmg except that 2-3 racial resist ![]() |

i think it is the variance
![]() |

i have 39+14 hammer, so the variance could be 100-125% And do you really think the dmg variance change your dmg from 100 with 2h on vw and 250 with 2h on bm? |
pd makes a huge difference .
i don't think a 4l ment got pd5
4l0:) no pd.
You also need to consider item qua, con, af etc. I would like to see more tests cause one fight doesnt mean anything. I'm sure any rf-wearing char would have noticed 100 dmg difference in normal play:) |
It's not just that...
240-250 dmg fullbuffed with celerity on blademaster You know how fast you hit with celerity... |
if i understand well your test... blademasters should wear cloth?

Read topic's title. |

it was a joke to tell that this test has no foundment... smdy test archery with showing all results etc for a long time... nothing happened. so it's not with one hit on smdy without test, without proof etc that you can conclude anything. maybe blademaster was 47, maybe he forgot to switch his armor piece with AF and so got level1 equipment... maybe the manta had some RA on... maybe .. maybe and anyway if the BM is not buffed, and you are ... and if the caster is buffed and you are not.... that's all the difference. so i think such topic can be closed... <img src="http://www.fallenearth.fr/daoc/daoc2.php?player=Panachou">

If there's so many maybe maybe maybe, let GM make an official test. But no, that won't happen, rather keep things unbalanced. Celerity atm is some ultimate killing spell, to hit 180 under celerity on a pure tank, this is insane!

First of all, the blademaster was lv 50 5l, 5l was the vw too
The main points are: I hit with celerity for 240-250 dmg with celeirty on bm. It's too much. I hit with celerity in the same condition for 98-103 dmg with celerity on a vw. It's too low. I hit with 2h with no buff and no celerity for 170 dmg on a mentalist, it's too low. |
Warrior has just hit me for 240 under celerity, I usually hit like that with normal hit. If u think that's fair...I don't know what...
Warrior is a heavy tank, it should do that dmg. If you can be happy, today a hero hit me for 380 dmg. I hope this doesn't become a xxx hit me for xxx, I think there is a bug, try to solve it
But celerity is an insane speed! 3 swings instead of 1! You think it's fair for warrior, which is heavy tank to do 210 dmg under celerity and hero 250 dmg, which is heavy tank too?
EDIT: Hah, 150 dmg on caster with normal taunt. Should always be more, no matter buffs. Last edited by Ranius on Feb 29, 2008 23:58, edited 2 times in total.
