but if raiding a keep will give more rps it wont change a thing for bg pop, just the fact that lonely guys in the bgs can earn free rps then.
no one will notice that the keep is attacked by some guys to earn free rps so no one gonna come to deff it. i think the realms will make kinda rotation to take the keep and get the easy rps.... |

Ah, but it will increase the pop during hours we don't currently consider peak, because everyone is going to want to try to capture those keeps. All right. Let me break it down for you guys. During non peak hours, people come into the BG's one by one, and seeing no one to fight immediately, they leave. We've all seen this, done this ourselves, and hated it. If people stayed for as little as a half an hour I'm sure fights would break out. In order for people to stay the population needs to hit what I like to call a "critical BG mass" - something that can't happen during off hours if people don't have a reason to stay in the BG even when there's no one to fight immediately. If they did have a reason to stay - such as a small RP based reward inferior to what you'd get in real fighting, but still large enough to motivate people to stay, then we'd see the critical mass hit much more often and at a wider range of hours. The crucial issue is that people need to come in and stay, and I think steps need to be taken to ensure this occurs. These steps could be a bigger RP reward for keep taking, or RP rewards from RvR missions like Blue suggested. As long as people can be rewarded for their time, they will come and stay, and then the real fighting begins. |

Well, what about the XP bonus you get for levelling in a RvR area? Isn't that an incentive, too? Why do you need more RPs for killing doors (that don't even hit back!)? We've seen the keep ping-pong one time too much...
Happy hunting!

no its not...since you might hit 1 or 2 mobs befor you ganked by a full group. the XP-bonus stands in NO realtion to the Downtime you have for let RvR-sickness fade. thats why you barely see levelgroups in emain when there are no guarding groups of the same realm. and if some silly go leveling in emain you ready every 3 to 4 minutes the same killmessages (the leveler died again). i miss my Lady....

The problem to me isn't to bring lv 49- to kill while exping, but to bring lv 50 people to rvr I agree with you, rp farming with doors killing is stupid. It would be better to give some useless but nice stuffs or bonuses, or we could start thinking to the relics ![]() |

I don't seem to be reaching some of you, here. First off, the XP bonus doesn't provide much incentive and never has for two reasons:
1. People at the level cap for the BG don't want to level until they reach their RP cap, so they want no exp. 2. Even with a 25% boost, you're still going to have faster leveling in a dungeon with a good group. Much, much faster. The XP boost just doesn't "cause" much RvR. There's no getting around that. There are a few odd ganks here and there, but that's not at all what I'm talking about. I'm talking about actively promoting RvR conflicts at all hours by giving players a reason to attend during off hours. Players want RP's. That's the only way. Now to address the second misunderstanding: imagine 100 rp for taking a keep in Braemar. That is not a lot of RP, and it you only get it once. It will not and can not turn into the "keep trading" scenario because once two teams capable of sacking keeps are in the battleground or frontier they will turn on eachother, because that provides WAY more RP. If there's no second team, you definitely can't farm it, for obvious reasons. The whole point of increasing RP rewards from a keep sack isn't to provide "EZ mode RP for noobz at 3 AM". The crucial fact some of you keep overlooking is that everyone in Braemar on all three realms is going to want that 100 rp bonus. The bonus is just to get people in - once they're in they're going to fight eachother. And the end result is that they will be fighting at hours that were previously dead. |

How about, some monsters lvl 50s can farm in emain that drop things like heal pots, endu pots and haste pots or other nice things....
Not Weapon reskins ofc, thats silly ^^ |

GoldRiley you are not right.
Probably you don't know the actual situation in bgs. Most of people make second characters to play in bgs (expecially braemar/thid), there is NO problem of low rvr there. Also, people will be kicked out from braemar when they reach rr2, if you give 100 rp for keep take, none will take it because people usually want to stay in braemar as long as possible. |
|
Thats not true. When I was in wilton/thid in the morning or when I got home from school, there was nobody there, therefore I logged out... He is talking about how to increase RvR at low hours such as in the morning. |

Hi, DarkRef xD <img src="http://www.metty.the-bart.org/other/daoc/sig.php?name=Gunodd&s=-1">

If you log when there are 50 people on line it's harder to find rvr. In thidranki these days there are at least 2 fg alb and 2 fg mid
In wilton i've never seen much action |
|
You raise a good point, Demiurge. The chars made specifically for Braemar wouldn't want the keep bonus at all, and they probably wouldn't do RvR missions either.
My personal experience is that more people are just shooting for RR2 before leaving, but I haven't been here as long as you, so what I've seen may not be normal. At any rate, motivating people to leave and play in the big leagues is a different (although related) problem... |
|
when there would be a good rp bonus for taking keep, you would take the keep and log off after that, having made free rps, logging anyways ![]() i dont see the point why there should be more action just because of rp reward for keep taking, people will just abuse that for some free rps, logging out after that .....and maybe logging in when the keep owner changed to get the raid rps again ![]() |

that was better, when there where messages for everyone, when a keep or tower got attacked..so everyone could go n defend it. now only the holding guild gets the message, but often these players dont tell the others or theres sometimes just noone online of that guild.
Realm versus Realm means:
Everybody of some Realm, against everyone of the other Realms.. <img src="http://opakwertheim.mine.nu/sig.php?chars=Fortius;Jelhenna;Mhaerion;Elkhas;Kheran;Geneva;Deheaeniera;Kaeron;Throgrus;Colibri;Khalinos;Rhelaine;Kheldan;He |

imho the old system was grand.
as u talk of bg-s, in the older days when some1 took down the door, every in the bg heard about it, loved it. the new claim system wit its high values makes bg claims pointless, hence even if theres an xpgrp in the bg that could defend it,they wont hear about it, or lets say u log in...see nuffing...go take the keep....waite around alittle, see nuffing and log,wit some of ur mates....but at the same time enemys are grping up since they saw u take the keep. Now the same thing happens, they come, find no1,take the keep....waite around abit and log.....since we all know most gamers have the patience of a 2year old ^^ Even lessening the claim cost,or removing it @all from bg-s would liven up the situationo, since people would get a better early warning system. <img src="http://herald.uthgard-server.net/daoc/sig.php?name=Paha&s=4">
