I agree with Mamut in this case. As far as i am concerned my lvl50 theurg (cap INT and power pool - no buffs) can cast about 12 pets in a row (no pausing or resting).

No more, not 15, not 20, but also no less than 12.

That would verify the common theory that the cost are based on the base mana pool without +INT and +power pool (as malle wrote).

Nevertheless i can remember Blue investing quite some time into the coding and testing of the theurg pets. It took a long time till we even had an ice or wind pet. So i would say if anyone thinks the pets are implemented in a wrong way, he shall bring forward some proof for that.

Substantinate your doubts and demandings with some useable sources. Just saying: "There is something wrong, they deal to much dmg" is not going anywhere.

i for my part use to have serenity 3 + pom-pot 3. i reg mana nearly as fast as i spend it. thats how a petcaster can easily cast a lot more than 10 pets.

hmm focus is reducing cost of your baseline spells only. isnt it?
pets are in spec line

"Tip: Focus bonuses on staves help make your base line spells cost less power."

it's what i was able to find in a quick search... i think the second link is more credible..

some check should be done on live server

Q. I searched the knowledgebase and couldn't find any info about how spell focus bonus works. Does it decrease power cost for all spells cast or just for baseline spells?

A. This is one of those questions that gets forwarded straight to our Balancinator. Here’s his reply: Your spells actually cost more than the listed value without the aid of focus bonus. Now add in focus bonus appropriate to your level and your baseline spells actually cost the listed amount in the delve. Your spec line spells will actually cost less than the listed delve value if you have the proper focus bonus.

That's the reply on vnboards in your linked Thread Panach, and here is the Grabbag it was answered in.

Confusion have now no effect on pets. a few weeks ago confusion let the pets standing because of lost the target. i dunno how this works on live. Maybe it's a bug.

Btw. pet from caba can cast thru walls and can be healed thru walls too (exemple inside of towers). ok, it's not a theurg's pet but it's a bug.

@Aerewyn

Talking about earth pets (didn't tested ice ones) so you can't run away.
Talking about 50er characters with caped resists and solo (no healers and so on)

@Kronos

I didn't tell this is right or this is wrong only have the proof of my experience and the comon sense. I can't believe a caster with 3 cast could kill someone.

Was fixed some days ago (pets cast, not the heal). The pet has a LOS check right before it starts the cast. Though there is no LOS check at end of cast so when it begins it will land the spell.

@ rapiz theu pets are not simply casts... it's still pet,

you can kill the theu pet without they did any dammage...

imagine you get 3 caba pets on you, you'll get the same problem.

the advantage of the theu is that he can cast lot of pets

his problem is that he can't keep pet all the time with him to insta rupt smdy and he can't change the target and can't stop them.

the pets are easy to kill.

just a stun and they are dead (btw it's a bug they should be stuned and go on and they die with confuse) so just stun some, ae stun or ST and it's done.

every class has good points and bad points. and i think this discution brings to nothing

"That would verify the common theory that the cost are based on the base mana pool without +INT and +power pool (as malle wrote)."

This is wrong. Panachier asked for proof so I tested it myself.

I used the highest level theurg I have access to, Melchoir, a level 22 theurg belonging to my guildie (dont have one myself)

I used level 13 ice pets (the highest ones he has available) and casted single pets on grey mobs. I repeated this for 5 mobs to verify that the numbers were reproducible.

- With all my items equipped, capped INT and focus, pets cost 10% each to cast.

- With no items equipped except my focus staff (base int, staff had only +cold resist) pets cost 10% each to cast.

- With all my items equipped (capped INT) and no focus staff, my pets cost 14% (did not expect this....bug perhaps; expected 12%) each to cast.

- With no items (no INT) and no focus staff pets cost 14% each.

As a control I also used one earth pet to verify the numbers matched for earth and ice. Melchoir has specced no wind so I could not test air pets.

So, you can clearly see there is NO difference between base and modified power pool when determining the cost of summoning a pet. The ONLY factor which appears to impact this FOCUS.

Now, granted, this is not a test of 100+ casts with a level 50, however it's the best PROOF that I can provide at this time. Until someone else tests more thoroughly and provides hard numbers to prove my testing is invalid due to my level, I will say the base power theory is false.

But the base power theory is mentioned on daocpedia.

If this can help, not only theurg pets cost too much. Also sm pets have a 25% power cost, instead i need 30% power to cast it (and i use all it) even with focus.
