hui my first post^^
I realy like the four zones solution cause of the important fact that evry realm would have his own terretory again ( Emain, Odins Gate, HW and the neutral badlands in the middle) So u would have space for exp spots (only in the "homezones" plz^^) and relikt keeps (also there). In the middle of aggramon u can set an keep for access Df, some towers around for bonuses and voila ^^ great rvr feeling is possible ![]() If the staff do it correctly the 4 zones also wouldnt be too much 4 the small rvr population on this server, this means that of course such an Zonechange needs additional rvr system changes to fit it. Some of them could be 1: put an life like ^^ hastener (speed 5, 10 mins duration) at evry tk and at the gates at the entrance to aggramon and noone shouldhave proplems whit too large whays to run even when they run alone 2: Reanable the messages of keeps/towers are under attack for all realmmembers for faster possible defending (to disable this was one of t the badest ideas from the staff since i play here ![]() 3: Make the keeps/towers easier to get so u dunt run long ways for standing 2h around doing nothing ^^ 4: Set an tower at each gateside of aggramon where members of the realm who controls it directly can teleport to. The most of the fights will be at the gates in aggramon and at the bridges on the way so i dont think that people dont find each other, not like now where u have not a realy point to move to. Thats how i see it, however, do something emain sucks like hell ^^ |

the idea of the hasteners is not bad. bu t i think it could be nice to set them in the towers on the way, so it would be one more reason to get the towers and that 'll make some routes to find people and will help solo RVR

That would mean no danger = no exp bonus! The Exp bonus we give is granted only for the risk of death you take in the RvR zone. Low risk = low bonus. |
|
/agree
but in emain the problem is that u have not enough place for fighting because there all are stupid mobs ^^ so lower the bonus or make the bonus df only and delete the most of those "stupid" spots .. like the grogan spot in emain for example |

Agramon or Old Emain;D both are very good

I disagree that Agramon is the best choice...after all it was designed to keep the 8v8 crowd on live away from the zerg surfers and siege types. It is the best choice for 8v8 RvR, but overall, RvR is more then 8v8 alone. If you switch to Agramon, soloing will become difficult as the stealthers will hump the mile gates and kill anyone trying to solo. This will also raise the number of "stealth groups" aka stealther zergs.
Also, there is less room for any kind of pve activity, without putting the mobs in places where the level 50 "gank groups" will be able to easily farm them. This may make the exp bonus for rvr less attractive, and may force players to do their level grinding elsewhere, which will hurt the over all level of action at level 50. I think this would be a mistake, because without expers to kill, often there would be very little at all. PvE in an RvR zone should be risky, not an automatic death sentence. Finally, there is less space and keeps for siege combat, which many players (not me, hate sieges personally) enjoy. To have a healthy RvR environment, all elements of DAoC RvR should be viable: 8v8, siege, solo and even zerging. This allows all players to enjoy their niche of RvR combat and not be "forced" into something they do not want. I believe in the long run, using Agramon could very well DECREASE the level of total action available at level 50, which I do not believe is the end goal of the Uthgard developers. @Aerewyn: Then I really wonder why there was so much action in Agramon on Purga. And even small fights were quite common.
Agramon is imo the best choice because its quite balanced and we can extend it easily in all directions. |

Just an opinion, nothing more. It wouldnt be the first time I was wrong. If I am wrong, I'll admit it, but if I am right I will say I told you so.
Don't forget though, on Purga was fast leveling and /level 30. Expers dont need to go to the frontier to get a bonus; they could simply go to lyonesse or one of the catacombs zones (that's where I did my Purga leveling). On uthgard, the fastest leveling is in the frontier, so people risk going there. Getting run over constantly by level 50 groups though MAY make them go level in other places...which will slow down the over all level 50 action. Also, in the relatively small amount of time I spent on Purga, I didnt see the same kind of population that you have here on Uthgard. Population changes the dynamics of everything. To be fair, as a US player, I played at off-peak times so, I can't say what Purga looked like in prime-time. Just some things to think about before you make your choice, even though you sound like you've already made it. Jaziza - Alb/Tristan Sorceress 11L4

Leveling is no topic für level 50 chars and we have many.

The four-maps-solution has enormous potential imho.

Voted for 4-zone due to it offering the option to upgrade to the 4-zone-system.
In first place Agramon will offer almost the same RvR situation as in Emain while additionally offering even starting points, 3 milegates for camping and stealther action and a central keep for those who like sieges. The zone is still big enough to implement a few lvl-spots, but will possibly lead into "zergy" rvr due to its zone design (symetric map with intuitive roads). Later on it is possible to add Emain, Hadrians and Odins including 2 additional keeps per zone (1 keep near connection to Agramon; 1 relic keep on the other end of the map) offering the option to implement a relic system. A relic system would mean the complete simulation of DAoC rvr. 4zones would be a lot space to run around, but DAoC history teaches us that the players will always focus on one main rvr-zone (-> agaramon in this case) and will enter surrounding zones to raid keeps (control DF) and/or relics (some boni). Last but not least the 4-zone-system will simulate the "hunter and the hunted" feeling which existed in OldFrontier DAoC when players had to track down (search) their prey. With regards Sethor Characters:
Midgard: Nothing atm Albion: Nothing atm Hibernia: suxx ^^ |

4 zones ? let me see ... lets say there are 250 players on the server ... and ~60 of them want to do high lvl rvr. and thats more than usual already .
to make the math a lil easier we say 20 albs 20 mids 20 hibs . and divide that furthermore onto 4 huge zones . hmmmmmm HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND ? please leave out the levelspots . if people want to lvl in a rvr zone they shall go to DF . it´s not fun to slay blue enemies with a group of 50s and it´s no fun to get mobbed up by red enemies. the population at its good time at purga was almost the same . with the difference that people did 90% rvr in the same area there - not 50% pve 30%bg rvr/pve 10% crafting and 10% high lvl rvr . and you want to split the last remaining 10% onto 4 huge zones . great idea ![]() |
