I've tried using multiple browsers but it didn't work.

You may need to whitelist our tools in your antivirus. As a temporary measure, you can temporarily disable your AV to see if that is interfering. |

Oh no! I spoke too soon. The updated completed and now I'm getting a Renderer Creation Failed! error. Any thoughts my friends?

Did you installed Daoc from scretch or is this an old long not used Daoc (ut) installation?
Can you check your C:\Users\(current user)\AppData\Roaming\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\uth folder and rename your user.dat file? Might be a problem if you have recently changed your graphics card and in your user.dat file is still an entry for your old card. Maybe reinstall direct x could also help. Thats the things i would check first. Regards |

It's a new installation. What should I rename the user.dat file?

Renamed. When I start the process while the folder is open, the error occurs exactly when a new user.dat file appears in the folder along side the original that has been renamed.

Next step that could help is reinstall direct x and/or your graphics card driver. And you are really sure its a new installation and not a client you used on live/phoenix etc? Just to be sure ^^

Positive. I've done both reinstalling direct x and v card drivers and the error persists. This is a real bummer. I was planning my big Uthgard come back! Damn youuuuu world! Thank you so much for your help, but it's officially a bleak situation.

Can you tell whats your graphics card? AMD/nvidia?
Try to run dxdiag and check if all options are activated. This kind of error has almost to do with wrong settings in user.dat, graphics driver or direct x. Maybe try out windowed mode in launcher settings here on the website. Im sure that it has something to do with one of these things. |

If you're running windows 10, windows defender has some features that can block the game. Be sure to whitelist the executables and uth.dll in the game directory or disable the advanced av features.
