Our guild formed a few weeks ago and then the leader has never logged back on. The rest of us are having a good time with each other, but we can't have a guild house, and we're a little annoyed that out 2% guild tax is now a ton of gold and we can't do anything at all with this guild. Yes, we could start a new one but that's a pain and there's this pile of guild tax gold from all of us leveling alts and mains.

So, is it possible to replace the current guild leader with an active player? Thanks.

Get the original leader to log in and have him do "/makeleader <anyone available>".

I doubt there's another way.

You can also use /gc requestguildleader and the server will promote you if you are next in line.
If there is another higher rank active within the last 90 days the command will not promote you.

That looks like a custom one? Never seen that before. But it's helpful.

Awesome, thank you, there is hope. There was no way to contact the guild leader, if there had been this while thing might not have been an issue. That command works, I'll just have to wait a couple more weeks. Woohoo!

Yes, a custom command added early 2018.
It gives players the same control in acquiring guild leadership weather a staff member manually promotes the player (with all needed checks) or the server handles this with a much faster response time. The endresult is the same both ways.

That's a nice feature BUT... Why don't we inform the player base about this and many other changes? Stealth changes will do little to encourage the players that staff is focused on what's good for the players.

The command was added almost a year ago and it is displayed in the /gc overview.
Going to lock this since OP's question has been answered.
