Thinking of coming back to play after being away since about July or so. Has anything really changed since then? My main was a valewalker but I'll probably switch to another class since it was near impossible to get groups on my VW (or has that changed too..?)

Also is the population in rvr pretty decent and balanced?

Any input helps! Thanks in advance!

I'm still having fun.

RvR is slow during the day for someone who prefers zergs like me, but keep myself occupied.

Your definition of 'groups' needs to be better specified.

You will most likely never be picked up as a random member to the better groups because people don't want to take the risk of picking up a random Hybrid as difficult to play as the Valewalker. You need to be a very good player and your team needs to have the utmost confidence in you for it to work at this patch level. Super-PUGs will probably still pick you up, but they are rare in Hibernia, and usually only walk out of Druim Ligen when Hibernia has all three power relics.

Midgard is still the biggest realm overall, and usually has the biggest numbers in RvR. Hibernia second, and Albion is pretty much a dead realm.

The game is a lot of fun. There are MORE people out in RvR now than there were when you quit.. this is because a higher percentage of the population is level 50 and geared. Both EU and NA times are fun and have zerg, 8v8, small man, and solo action.

Is it possible to solo with a visible class now..? the only soloing I could really do on my VW is picking off solo levelers/crafters outside some PKs.

Also why is alb dead now..?

Solo action is pretty much dead unless you camp portal keeps, high-traffic milegates or leveling spots.

Some 8mans will leave you be if you run around solo, but it is never a guarantee.

Alb is dead because nobody plays it. All 8man guilds have abandoned the realm, and there seem to be very few people with the motivation to create RvR PUGs. There is the occasional Zerg now and then (rare though), if you enjoy that type of RvR.

maybe alb 8 man is dead, but there is an alb zerg just about every night NA time. they make for some fun multi group action and good hunting for solos working the travel routes.

Alb is not dead. The amount of misinformation on these forums is astounding. Let me clear a few things up for you:

1. Solo action is possible in DF, milegates, or outside PKs. I see a lot of small manning going on during the non-primetime hours, especially in high traffic zones where people tend to xp (Snowdonia, Collory, Odins, DF, etc.)
2. Alb 8v8 is not dead. During eu times Chicken n Moo runs, during na times HYPER runs. There is usually an alb zerg during NA time with Buds/Trained Again/WPFK & friends
3. During eu time each realm fields a zerg and multiple 8v8s. Not an issue

**Midgard needs the most help overall. Yes, they accrue the most rps each week but this is skewed because of 1-2 8v8 groups (Blood/Casuals + DG) that run nonstop during EU time. They are almost nonexistant during NA time when the albs and hibs have zergs and 8v8 out.

Alright, pardon me.

Alb is dead. During EU hours.

All realms are equally dead during NA hours.

LOL youre such a god damn whiner. During EU the albs run massive zerg. yesterday they had about 75 players pushing through hibland. Romu and the Ni alliance usually are out in full force, plus the C&M 8v8.

IF THIS IS WHAT DEAD FEELS LIKE I DONT WANT TO BE ALIVE

In seriousness, in my experience NA hours are active enough to have fun with, with a lull between 11 PM and 1 AM EST.

Romu? Ni? C&M?

Is this something that makes sense if you play during the dead hours of the day?

I've been very happy with NA time action the past 4-6 weeks. MUCH better than a few months ago.
