Hi,

i quote from http://talsyra.tripod.com/daocmechanics ... asics.html

A little known fact about weapon speeds is that there is a very small bonus to slow weapons - that is, the higher a weapon's listed SPD, the more it's potential damage will be. This slow weapon bonus modifies the overall damage cap of the weapon by what appears to be .3% for each .1SPD over 2.0SPD. In other words, a 5.0SPD weapon receives a 9% damage bonus over a 2.0SPD weapon.

my question is: is this 'very small bonus' implemented on Uthgard ? (I think it never was in DOL history)
an answer from a Dev or from a heavy tester would be really apreciated

(ie: if it is, it means:
a blademaster using 2x Sickle (2.9 SPD), instead of the usual Weighted Long Sword (4.2 SPD) + Crescent Sword (3.1 SPD) combo, loses 3.9% damage on the right hand, and 0.6% damage on the left hand,
otherwise it doesn't affect DPS (damage per second))

Hey,

Well if uthgard implemented the DPS formula provided at Camelot Herald for Melee Damage then my answer is as following:

As you can see the Weapon Speed is used in the formula twice in a multiplication which results in an exponetial increase of the result. The thing is that in the formula the second is usage is (0.94 + weaponspeed * 0.03) which means that just 3% of the second time it is used (see increase) and so the curve gets very flat.

I have made a little spreadsheet to visualize what i mean, but unfortunately i cannot post it since the post looks too spamy for a new user (lol).

As a conclusion when analyzing this you can say that 1 second more weapon speed (SPD) results in 3% more damage for unstyled damage.
