With respect to the original poster, at 30% chance of success, 1% chance of boom, and 69% chance of failure/retry, if you continue to SC until success or boom, the actual % chance of boom for the item is about 3.226%, or 1 out of 31 will go boom.

do 1 MP gem and 0% of blowing up |

Just like making 2 MP's in a row is possible, so is that.
People also tend to forget the risk of blowing up doing 4x99 gems on 99 item, is not 1%. You have 30% chance of success and 1% risk of blowing up, but since the chance of success is only 30% you will have to do many retries, and each failure risks you blowing up. Some math viz can likely give us the real % risk, but I'd say it's closer to 3-4% on each item due to the retries. Edit: If you want no risk, make one of the 5 components (gems/item) MP, then 0 risk. Albion and having fun

When crafting in MP items i always start with lowest gems (hope for MP) and continue to highest. If i get a MP i jump to highest stone and stop if i get a 98.

I posted the numbers up above already, though I wouldn't claim to be a math viz. I'm still waiting for Topenga the math sage to correct me with something more than flawed rhetoric. |

The other day I was crafting and had 5.5 OC with over 1k SC. all 99% gems on 99% armor. BOOM DEAD..

Over 1k SC and had 14 pieces of 99% armor/weapons to do a 5.5 OC few days ago.. I went boom on 2 of the peices (one a weapon) and it took 29 tries to remake the 99% weapon. Also on several of the pieces it took 10+ tries to imbue the gems.
Something is very wrong with that scenario. ![]() |
