I think the Mid BG peaked at 192 around 45min after it rolled out of SF and had to clean up own frontiers after 30hibbies had droped some green dyes on our map.

After about 2hours I saw a report of 145albs attacking DC.

No real idea of how many hibs, input?

Overall I didnt enjoy this event too much myself, lack of healing and dieing to a single dot gets old. but i still enjoyed the view from the coldground as much as you can ;) Thanks all for comming out. Hope to see more action like this in the future

I wasn't on for the beginning of the event but I have 2 reported hibbies max numbers and not sure which is correct, either 135 or 183 (vastly different but from 2 different "positive" source so not sure which to believe).

Hibs had about 100 in the BG when Mids ported over to Emain the first time. By the time of those 3 way fights, it was up around 150.

That was so much fun out there, all evening. Thank you Holsten for organising. We had a great time in Hibernia.

Next time organise it in Mid, you know, the realm that doesnt have any relics to lose :-P :-P :-P
Realm points for door repairs, that's all I want!
Hib tactics ...Grow a ****** pair and enjoy the fun of zerg fights or dont bother coming out.
I quite liked the tactical side of things as opposed to rushing towards the enemy thinking only of a possible rp gain - nice to do something different and nice that the hib BG worked mostly together.

At one point I seem to remember in emain - all 3 sides doing a bit of feint and pull back rather than mimicking the charge of the light brigade.

Perhaps if the action was in alb or mid - the hibbies would have acted differently - but then perhaps so may have the defending realm.

Gratz Albs! Now we're well set for Blue Sunday.

27 August, 18:00 CET (Berlin) / Noon EDT (New York) 200+ Mids are coming for the relics! Zerg up or kiss em good bye.

About lags .... COME ON !!! There was no lag. No delay when you cast a spell (or instant). Even when we was 100 alb vs 200 mid with 200 hib behind mids.
It was smooth as f****.
However, some FPS drop if you let names and all animations activated. Your call (i got some FPS drop myself).

Video coming soon if i have decent enough footage.

Last word : It was fun. Not everyday ... i hope, but once in a while, really fun.

It was a taunt bro to cause lots of Albs and Hibs to come out. It worked. :)

Our plan wasn't to go for the relics, although we would have if few came out to defend.

Thanks to Holsten for organizing this and leading! How about the Albs or Hibs organize the next event?

Welcome, I hope most people enjoyed the event. I was even able to rescue some video parts, but will only get a very short teaser video for the next Blue Sunday.
I promise the next event will be somewhere in the next 4 weeks, and not in 6 months.

Constantyne wrote:I will never understand all the ****** from people that don't play the game anymore. There were about 400 people out there. DAoC is gonna lag in that situation. That's never a problem though in big zerg fights. In huge ones like today, it's a problem and always has been. In relic raids, etc. we function just fine and never have lag. So I'm not going to gripe about the 1% of the time we have days like today. You say you don't care but you took the time to put together this response. Don't care means you go away and do something else. I love the game, love the server, love the people here and it's all good. It's not perfect but nothing ever is. I appreciate the ability to play the game this way and do so for free.

First rule of the internet: Just because things are free it doesn't mean you can't complain about it.
I played many more hours on this server than you and most people in this thread or in this forum. I experienced all technical issues, all ups and downs, and I always defended the dev team on my stream and ingame. This doesn't entitle me to anything, but I guaranteed love this game as much as you do. What I do not love are empty promises and wrong statements.

And there was one and one reason only why I complained: Because the Lead Developer of this server once told me that this problem got solved when it hasn't been solved yet. That's all there is to it.
Besides that, I have never experienced that kind of input lag on live ever. Framedrops, yes, typical server-client delay, yes, but nothing like this. And since I got told that this wasn't an issue anymore, I was even more angry that it still was yesterday.

At least Abydos admitted that the issue is a "engineering challenge" which basically means that limits are reached; I wish every member of the dev team could be able to admit thinks like that.
Engineering around "worst-case scenarios" like 600 clients in one zone is nothing a server without a paid team will ever be able to do, that's a known fact; another thing is to perceive that fact as a developer.
