For what? These changes are great without radically changed the game from classic Camelot


Uthgard is a far way off from classic. Sorry all their hard word wont increase the numbers. I'm patient.

Uthgard will be adding a bonus to the experience cap in groups. Every player in a group enables a +5% cap increase to experience for all members of the group. That means your experience cap will be pushed up by +40% in a full group. Since all other bonuses beside the group bonus are on top of the capped experience they heavily depend on the cap. Since the group bonus (think BAF, social mobs) is used before the cap you should be targetting mobs that bring in significant group bonuses (+20% for each mob you face) so that you can use the cap bonus to its fullest.

Bonus to experience cap will be as follows:

2 players +10% bonus
3 players +15% bonus
4 players +20% bonus
5 players +25% bonus
6 players +30% bonus
7 players +35% bonus
8 players +40% bonus

There's an important limitation you should know: Only players inside the experience clamp of a group can benefit from the bonus. You notice that clamp if you get the same XP as the highest level player (provided you didn't cap already). As an example a level 41 player grouped with level 50 will benefit from the cap bonus. A level 40 player grouped with level 50 does not get the bonus. As rule of thumb the player should be not lower than -20% of the highest level player in the group. The clamp is calculated by a complicated formula and its wider in lower levels so it isn't really a fixed percentage but you get the idea.

When you get experience beyond the cap you will see it in the experience gain message. Here is an example of a FG:
You receive 8,996,782 experience for adventuring in this area!
You receive 98,964,602 experience! (20,761,804 camp bonus) (23,991,418 over cap)



Great changes, but honestly... I dont think any in the community wished for an exp CAP to be raised, but a simple raise in exp.

If i understand this correct, then i would get exactly the same exp in a group of 8 by killing mobs that do no cap for me, as i would do before the new patch?... Community asked for a 5% raise of EXP from each member, nomatter if you are farming clusters of oranges fast or single purples slower..
Did i understand this exp cap bonus correct? :?

Rest is very good news though.. Just need the lvl 48 cap for last BG now..... :roll:

Hört sich doch klasse an,gerade der xp bonus für volle gruppen ist doch sahne.
Ich hoffe das das wieder mehr xp gruppen bringt.
Und das auch die Solochars besser vorankommen,nd in grps geladen werden.

My only issue with this is you are assuming that there will be folks to group with every day and at any given time of the day ..

So if I can only play on Wednesday at 4:47 AM you can guarantee that there will be a group of people my level so that I can take advantage of this bonus exp ???

Why not just a strait 40% increase to exp across the board .. Why are you assuming that there will always be players to group with at every moment of every single day ? Also there are classes in this game that groups do not take .. what about the folks who want to play them classes ?

PLEASE please reconsider this and just make it a flat 40% across the board ...

Or do 2X exp or 30% ( lol ) weekends , every weekend . I mean lets face it were not a true 1.65 server .. Why being so tight with xp QoL changes .. I put in for a realm change and quit a 43 NS ( full templete ) because I refuse to grind exp solo . My guild was more into RvR currently so was only doing xp 1 or 2 times a week and if your not on then you miss it .. I absolutely refuse to solo yellow mobs for 1 bubble of xp ever 1.5 hours . and the fact is there is NO WAY you can promise that there will ALWAYS be players on of every lvl and every minuet of every day .. This is impossible ..

Look I love this server I really do .. But I look at the numbers 4 - 6 months ago and I look at the numbers today and I have to tell you .. Little tiny QoL changes like this trickling out once every 2 or 3 month is not going to help the population.. And no one can say it has to do with keeping the 1.65 CLASSIC feel .. I mean you added a custom 15 min timer to entering DF .. ? REALLY . But God forbid we increase PvE xp without forcing you to be in a full group .. I hope this helps the server I really do .. Not gonna hold my breath though ..

Also FYI Broadsword is days away from announcing the launch of a new server type .. Crossing my fingers that its a classic type server..

15 min timer on DF but will prolly never get something like 5- 10 min invig pots . To usefull i think.

One of the best things I think the Uth team (or anyone else out there) could do would be to run a progression server.


IE. release the game how it was at launch and progressively patch it with time towards a stated patch level. Would it be imbalanced as ****** at points? Hell yes. Would it be frustrating at times? Hell yes. But my god it would be fun.

IMO one of the reasons the population here is so stale is because it launches and stays at a flat 1.65

A bit disappointed with the changes. A small step in the right direction but by far too little to late.

Exp CAP (!) bonus is not exp bonus and will only slightly affect the overall exp gained by groups in many cases.

BGs are still not that great without bind stones, RvR without tasks.. oh well.

Its not really a flat 1.65 .. I mean I give them credit they have tried to make changes to help.. Its just to small of a change .. Or the change comes with to many restrictions .. I hope they get thing s straitened out soon :)

an example of what I mean about trying but changes being to small is like ,

SUMMER XP EVENT .. 30% exp .. Sounds great right .. Summer is 3 months long .. This last for 4 days ... hmmm
