I'm getting a lot of link deaths, which is probably due to my own setup (playing on mac through vmware).

However, every time I get an LD and am kicked out of the game, I can't login for about 5 minutes. The patcher keeps telling me I can't run 2 instances of daoc at the same time, though no uthgard or daoc process is actually running. This means the server tells the patcher I'm ingame, though I'm not sending data anymore?

I'm not sure what elements are at play here. Is the client GUI telling me that it can't reach the server, so it's kicking me out of the interface? And at the same time, the server doesn't know this, so it's not kicking me out of the game?

I don't know what your windows looks like on a mac under VMware but on straight windows, if we LD, we can't reconnect for about 2 minutes. We'll see what you are seeing, AND if we try to reconnect prior to waiting those two minutes, the timer starts over! So, if you retry every 60 seconds, you will NEVER get back in!

Does your Windows support the ability to use Resource Monitor? If it does, you can find the Uthgard dll there and restore it without needing to wait for your character to leave the game.

Oh, that reconnect timer, I didn't know that. That explains a lot.

Yeah resource monitor is available (just standard Windows 7 install). What do you mean with 'restoring the uthgard dll' ?

Note: This can ONLY be done with Resource Monitor, NOT via Task Manager.

Open Resource Monitor
find Uth.dll under Processes
Right click on Uth.dll
select Resume Process from the drop down menu
Your character will be ready to play
