Leave it as it is. Purge is for Nearsight if you are a class that gets affected by Nearsight.

I'd be down for fixing it or adding a cure for it, but that isn't going to happen here anytime soon. I don't see custom changes regarding NS even gaining traction.

I'm sorry but the Nearsight Thread should not end with this.
If you meet a Hib Caster Grp two times in 30 Minutes as a Mid or Alb Caster Grp you are dead by design.

There is quite a bit of ****** in this patch level of DAoC that makes no sense, but it's what it is.

Nearsight is frustrating to get around but not impossible.

I think nerfing the range is the least heavy handed thing, if no one suggested that.

Range nerf is also a possibility.
Bolt range should be fine.

It's just kind of weird to have an ability that can destroy Support and Casters for 2 minutes from 2300 range where no one can do anything to you other than maybe some Amnesia casts.
It seems too easy/safe on the part of the NSer while having a profound effect on the other team.

It's just part of the caster meta. On inc you need to prepare for NS and respond once it comes out. I've seen some Mid groups thoroughly hide their casters behind Trolls on inc which is clever as hell. There was also a fairly organized Mid group running three RMs awhile back... Hit them all with Red NS and they called my bluff and ran into almost staff range and nuked me to hell and back.

NS is still a ******, but at least for a Cab you have to dump 20+ points into a fairly useless spell line to get it.


Putting a NS cure high up in Rejuv lines would be the only thing I could see remotely being considered. Uth doesn't really like to mess with balance if none of you have been paying attention.

Ns cure would be way too good for Albs. A decrease in duration is the only balanced way to tune down ns

The staff will not even put hasteners in the capitals because it, somehow, affects balance. Trying to believe they will adjust something as game changing as nearsight is laughable.

Why would you tune down NS ?
It's part of this patch ...
As a minst, i don't like this spell very much ... but there is always a work-around.
Purge is one yes, but not the only one.

We aimed for 1.65 didn't we ?
