Holy ******, was I wrong. I thought it wouldn't be so bad trying to find RvR here, but boy was I wrong. There's nothing that can be done with how crappy the community is in terms of grouping up for 8mans. No one wants to group with anyone and all the elitist don't group with anyone but themselves. Just want to forewarn anyone trying to level for 8man, unless you have a group of friends...goodluck.
Thanks for the nostalgia, I had a blast getting back into DAOC for one last time. I really truly love the RvR too, but the way the community runs it here, there's no hope for it to go further. People spend hours trying to find an 8man to get into, while people sit around waiting for their standard group comes back instead of trying to fill. Sucks that its this way but I guess when you get all the die hard fans of DAOC you get people that don't care to group with new people. |

"Good" to see that I´m not the only one getting that impression. Kind of sad and might get me to quit soon :-/

Sadly the RvR here is closer to WoW arenas than classic DAoC. Both the devs and the community are to blame.

what realm ?

Meanwhile on NA time Albion we were considering inviting a Scout for DPS because literally nothing else could be found.
It really depends on your class/spec/timezone/realm what results you get out of RvR. Satanic Panic - Cleric

No...not "this". I did that several times and the majority of the time it leads to nowhere. people want to come into a finished group apparently, perfect for them to be the missing piece. so you sit there and try to invite people, almost get a full group together and after 1,5 hours someone leaves cause he doesnt like the situation of the group and you would have to start all over again. not gonna lie, 2 out of 5 times it actually worked and i got people that were willing to roll with the given situation. but the other times the group just fell apart after some time. at least to me its more fun to try my luck with a certain group or setup and accept a higher possibility for failure, than to spam LFG for 2 hours and logg off. but a whole lot of people think about that differently it seems.

Sorry to burst the doom and gloom bubble but I just had one of my first proper nights of rvr last night and it was one of the most fun time I have had in any game ever! We had about 3FG hibs take a keep in mid and then a monstrous Mid Zerg of 9FGs came to take it back, we defended the Lord room for a good twenty minutes with slammers and pbaoers doing their job, which was really fun as an Ench got a few kills and burnt through a few too many mana pots. Then later on in emain had some nice 8v8 and Zerg fights against Alba at APK.
This was with my guild so I can appreciate unguided folks saying it's hard to find groups but just get talking to people make some friends and join an active guild and there is lots of fun to be had. |

Might be the exception, but I started here knowing nobody. pugged for months and I am now in one of the better 8v8 guilds on the server. Obviously you dont get into the better pugs at first. ppl have been playing together for months now and want to play with the players that they know are good. Play a class thats needed, be a decent human being and play your class well and people will want you in their grps. I get spammed with grp invites everytime I log in. If you are on alb, level a minstrel or a cabalist and you will never have to worry about getting groups.

What cofie said hits the nail on the head. I've pugged a lot and have created pugs a lot. We eventually created a guild of like minded people, we may not be superstars but we now have a group nearly every night. We are learning each other currently but having fun with them is more important. Do they always lead to a flawless night of victories. No but if you are having fun it doesn't matter. I've met a lot of people where even during slow NA we can fill out a group pretty easily on alb, which normally has 0-2 tanks on at best. So yes THIS.
Some nights we can not fill due to lack of players but then we do other things, small man, Zerg surf, whatever. But doing said things gets you to know like minded people who then become an easier invite the next day. Just remember the people who are like that and try someone new. RAINBOWNED

The trend is going towards what OP is saying. This game is not casual friendly and it will only continue to be like this.
You can't beat decent groups with pugs, and down the road only decent groups will stay/remain, puggers continuously won't find any groups and then eventually quit. They will simply not be invited and pug groups will rarely form because people know, we'll just feed, there is no point in running like this. They'll eventually do 1-2 runs and then quit. They only way pugs are currently surviving and having at least some fun is in form of the Blood Feud/Tuatha de Fearn/Rabenfrost/Sturmwoelfe/Vortigern zerg. In the end, the same 6 groups will run around with a population of 300, which will further diminish and go downhill. ![]() |

I think we need a button that finds a group for us, with right classes in it

Problem with this game is the more time you put in the stronger you are.
Time to get 50 Time to get template items Time to craft make money Time get good rvr grp set up Time to organise raids Time to get good realm rank Time to perfect group you play In end this game is more about a persons free time then there skills on the battlefield The casuals have to zerg in pugs as they don't have time have real life's are not bums and don't look like white vampires . The game was always flawed in that way and TOA made it even worse. That's why game died in end. Inless your student jobless worthless bum or Millionaire or Retired your gone fall behind. And that's why most people quit in end and game died. In the end the Elite bum casuals kill the game like they did after TOA came out. I hope the casuals stay and make bigger and bigger pug zergs to wipe them worthless elite bums and stop this server from dieing. Any guild in any realm which makes these pug zergss should be hailed as hero's. Or the reality is the server will end up down to few worthless elite 8mans |
