okay devs wondering if anything can be done here:

1. guild mate wanted me to buy a house, and said he would stock it with merchants and what have you from his house.

2. guild mate picks up SF porter, bind stone, personal vault and house vault from his house.

3. I then purchased a lot and house and payed rent and gave said guild mate access to my house.

4. guild mate then puts his SF porter, bind stone, personal vault and house vault (from his house) on my hook points in my house.

5. guild mate then opens the house vault and everything that was inside it is gone.

6. guild mate freaks out.... rrandom items including 9plat worth of DF seals and asterite are now gone

7. somewhere in this, a vial of fetid bog water is transferred to my via the new house vault and i take it out.

8. i hear about this and have my guild mate come back to the house, pick up his house vault from my hook point and carry it back to his house.

9. guild mate puts his house vault back on his hook point in his house.

10. items originally in the vault reappeared except for DF seals and stacks of asterite metal bars.

so my question is: is there anyway to get those DF seals and stacks of metal back? ive tried to list step by step everything that has happened. was there an issue with tagging items to the database when the vault got transferred? or did we just do a general daoc no-no by forgetting to empty the vault before transferring it? any help here would be gratefully appreciated.

Vault items are not connected to the vault but the hook point in which the vault is placed. His items will stay on his hook point and not on his actually vault that he placed in your house.

With that said...there isn't any chance anything can be lost in such a way as you have explained as the items stayed with the hook point in his house and not said vault that he placed at yours.

Sometimes items get confused so that items can be accessed from a personal vault as well as a house vault. Have your friend look in his personal vault for the 'missing' items. Note: He may have to move the personal vault back to the original hook point.

For future reference ALWAYS completely empty a house vault before moving it.
