It takes about two hours or so to get a character to level 30 with a Necro PL which is probably why it's fairly dead.

And for those of us who cannot get necro PL? what happens to the 'filthy casuals' that require to lv conventionally :D

I appreciate this just perpetuates the issue but...

Unfortunately it seems you must level a necro if you want to level in good time on Alb.

Good news is levelling a necro is so super fast that once you have one after a few days /played you can trade PLs with any of the other many necros and still get a 50 you want as quick as you would levelling conventionally.

I appreciate your frustration I was in the same position. I didn't bother rolling a necro cos I just couldn't bring myself to do it... moved realm instead.

If you're leveling on Realm of the Dead er I mean Albion and you dont have/don't want to get a corpsehumper, then you are most of the time stuck soloing, which is for most classes incredibly frustrating, indeed.

There some exceptions such as Cornwall and Llyn Barfog groups, but most the time if you poke people trying to assemble a group, more often than not you're messaging afk characters being powelevelled instead of actual people.

Add to the list of challenges that you'll still be drowning in corpsehumpers wherever you try to level, who park their corpses in the middle of camps aoeing everything, or use every chance they get to grab mobs off your pulls.

As a final bonus challenge, if you DO manage to level to 50, you can't buy anything. Crafter prices are inflated because everyone assumes everyone farms on a necro.

Yep. Good times.

Spot on.

The prices in Hibernia are VASTLY cheaper then Necromancer-filled Albion.
Positivity - 4x Ranger
Paenon - 50 Friar (sleeping because it's non-Meta)
Simi - 50 Necro (ditto, farmbot)

It's the classic Uthgard front page debate.

If leveling isn't fun or efficient, people will find a way around it. Albion has two ways around it - Necromancers or Cabalists...if you disabled both of these classes I bet you would see Ice Wizards.

I'd *much rather* actually level at varying spots in Albion, play with full groups, and not worry about having to invite people because they lower the XP or aren't the most efficient class.

... but why would I spend time to constantly /who /tell people for hours on end to keep a group rolling when I can just find a Necro/Cleric combo and get like 3-4x the XP I'd get in a normal group?

At this point if they killed the ability to PL people would just leave. To me, the only solution is to make conventional grouping actually worth the effort - which doesn't appear to be something that will happen any time soon.

actual groups were everywhere during the first two months. EVERYWHERE. it was awesome horsing sauvage to Cornwall and seeing constant XP groups near the road in literally every zone.

the grind burnout, population decline, and multitude of necro farming alts definitely emptied almost every zone except lyonesse.

what class did you make? if you can't pay for a PL, you could roll up as a duo with someone and make lots of efficient setups. if you can stun, you + a necro can basically powerlevel yourselves. if you join the right guild and explain your situation, perhaps someone could pl u a bit for free.

I know it kinda sucks but it is what it is. alb has necros, so we use em. once you get to 30s/40s there are still actual grps in lyonesse/barfog that always look for replacements.

ill send u a PM I can PL a bit this week if you're interested.

That is a kind offer and I thank you for it.

But from what people have been saying I think my stay in Albion might well be a short one :D Half the pleasure for me is lvling in a decent group with some banter to make the grind less dull, if this does not really exist in Albion until you are level X then what is the point?

Incidentally, if I recently transferred from Mid to Alb, then delete all my alb toons will I end up back in Mid or would I get to choose Hib or Mid (without having to wait another 7 days) ?

when you still have your chars in mid, then you will be on mid after deleting alb toons.
delete mid toons and you can choose again all realms.

Er I don't think this is the case.

If you delete all toons on the realm you are on (Alb) you can pick from any realm on the server again.

As soon as you select a realm with pre-existing toons the timer requirement will apply again.

I have done this several times over the last few days swapping between hib and Alb whilst having toons in mid.

Edit: so many typos
