Yep, have basically given up trying to solo on my Friar right now (finding a group is impossible as there's already a pre-set and defined group of hardcore Albs doing their 8-man hardcore shenanigans and simply no PUG's to speak of). It's about what I expected though given the patch level and not having Determination.

I've gotten a few solo fights but mostly got run over by full groups of enemies, which gets old after it happens the second or third time.

I solo 95% of the time on a non stealthing, no speed class and yes it comes with many many deaths due to superior numbers. If you're determined enough you'll find spots even during the most active times where you can get the action you're looking for. I've been through all 3 frontier zones during Euro primetime and by far Albion is the most solo friendly to a non-stealthing class. The plethora of steep hills and mountains can be used quite effectively to hide from or avoid incoming groups. With a little knowledge of the area I find myself doing fairly well climbing the realm ranks. Only wish more people realized how much easier it is to solo in Alb vs other zones. Odin's and Emain belong to the groups and zergs.

What's weird is I thought the same thing and tried for a few hours to find some fights solo. Unfortunately some groups and small-mans have caught on and are routinely patrolling Hadrian's, so if you're not a stealther or lack speed it's just a run out there for nothing.

I'm actually annoyed that Odin's has so many groups patrolling it as I was hoping during off-hours it'd be a more solo-friendly location not being Emain.

YOu cant solo cause like i said in 4 others threads.. there s no respect among enemies , rps whores everywhere , ppl run 2-3 fg s sticked not only in DF but even outside .. yeah ..Uthg was in 2014 a server with 400 players and even less because there was no pleasure in playing it anymore duo to the fact that constant FG s were kiling everything in their path , solo duo was imposible unloes u were mincer skald or bard+ something and so on . It will get to the same state but it needs a year or two to cool down .

Yeah, I 100% agree with this.

If you aren't playing one of the meta classes that get groups or have a set group of buddies to run with (and fill in the empty spots to make as close to 8 as possible), the second you leave a portal keep in an enemy realm you're going to be run over by a full group.

I'm not tone-deaf (I've played this game off and on since it came out)... and understand the red-is-dead philosophy and argument (and that people want to progress their characters and their time isn't worth more then my time just because I'm soloing) ... HOWEVER ... the less solo action there is the crappier as a whole the server gets.

If all that's out in the frontier is 8 man action, that's ALL you're going to find out there after awhile. And when that happens the people that don't get grouped or aren't a great grouping class... stop bothering, and you lose players. I know whenever I get run over by an 8 man (it happened 3-4 times on my Friar today) ... I just say "Screw this." and log. Eventually people like me will stop playing the RP pinatas and you'll have a dead server to show for it.

It's no value at all, but i'll give my experience as soloer (i do few runs from time to time).

Sometime, i get fun runs, with lot of duels, or 1vsX (not only xpers, but it happens).
Sometime am in the good mood, and i don't kill greys, sometimes i do.

But all, the time, ALL the time, when a FG see me, they' chase me.
Even the groups that tells, (or are knowns) to respect RvR fights, like Kite Squad.
When i drive 8man i happen to kill soloers aswell, even if i never CHASE like a dummy.

I once got chased from Breifine to DRUIM LIGEN by a freaking 2 or 3 FG hib. They went from emain entrance to Druim ligne untill i suicide on guards, as a 16+vs1.

It happen ... It's the solo life ... You gotta accept to be killed by bad (//greedy) groups.

But the fun is still here, if your are patient enough.
Just let them get their ... 100 to 150 rps... by doing a 8+vs1 they'll be happy with this ... gigantic&challenging RP gain, and ....you just don't care.


In 8v8 you can't expect to have fun with no death, even with the best group around on the easiest realm (mid ?).
So don't expect to achieve it on solo. (Btw it was the same on live .... It's not an uthgard thing)
In both case, you can still have fun if you play the game for fun (solo or grouped).

Already feels dead for soloing. Or maybe I'm still early for everyone to level. Pretty much finding 1 other solo stealther and I think I've fed him enough rp's for now. Besides rr5 shades eating me most of my other fights get added on by groups. My rose colored glasses have lost their tent. Not giving up though!

As a side not, there's 1300 ppl on at 9pm EST.

Where you see that? Its 4am CEST and 1412 online.

Just to set it into perspective Uthgard 1 was in its good times around 800-900 players at EU prime time. For solo action less crowded RvR is certainly helpful.
