Hey, 2 friends and i started playing 3 Days ago and we are level 14 currently.
We play skald, shaman and berserker.
In the first few levels we found some skeletons for armor sets and bought weapons from the money we could spare. since they became green / gray pretty quick our leveling ability was meh but thanks to some nice savage in our group (thank you @own) at around level 10 we were able to get a full set of level 10 armor and weapons from the merchant. He gave every one of us 6-7 Gold for this.

Now here is the problem. each of us was at around 1 gold at that time so we couldnt afford this by ourselfs and as a melee weapons and armor matter alot.
At now level 14 everything is blue again and will soon be green and gray and from the looks of it non of us will have gold for new gear by a long shot.
Now i could go to jordheim and ask everyone per whisper for a gold piece until i got enough for a level 20 armor but the same problem would occur on level 30 again.

Could anyone hint for us how we could make money leveling or where to stop leveling and farm armor/weapons?
Is it worth to give all our money to one of us and that person starts armorcrafting? but i guess thats even more expensive!?

Thanks in advance!

Nice, thanks. We will try nisse then when im home from work.
We are currently in a guild (got invited to one when we started) but that doesnt help much it hurts more currently with the tax. we dont really wanna ask for money or free stuff. we would feel bad for doing so. there is a difference in asking for it or getting it offered like that savage did.

One of you should make a tailor (skald can learn it I think) or at least a tailor twink who salvages not needed drops or outdated equipment.
That way you make more money than by just selling your items to a vendor npc.

Here is a guide about salvaging and making trinkets to sell to NPC merchants:

I'll make all 3 of you level 20 armor and spellcraft it for free if you'd like, I have plenty of money to spare on my shaman and it gives me time to step away from the grind. PM me in game (/send lothin) and I'll be more than willing to twink you guys out. There's plenty of OTD that salvage for good trinket, and there's also good mobs in Myrkwood (Mora Dancers, Svartalfs, and Trees) that all have good drop tables on them. Also, depending on how your shaman friend specced, he could become your ultimate farm bot. At level 34, I've already managed to accumulate 12 platinum or so just in salvage.

Wow if salvaging is worth it this much i guess we will throw our gold and by gold i mean silver ;-) together and get one of us to crafting so we can salvage stuff and share the money. sounds great. from the guide i got that for only 2-3 gold i could get to rank 200 and i guess thats ok to salvage stuff in our level?

Your offer sounds great Rendiviel. Ill try to get to you once im home, should be in about 2 hours.
My shamman friend is 7 mend and rest aug as far as i know, not sure if at 7 mend by now.
i guess you are talking about a cave spec? wouldnt that hurt his groupability? most of the time we try to get a few people in and grind red-purple monsters so he is only buffing and healing all the time. what would that spec you talk about look like?

The idea is to be 23 cave 22 aug 0 mending at level 32. You get to realm rank 1L4 and get long wind 2, which gives you perma sprint. Most people level up speccing into aug because it's easier to group, but I found at level 18 (where I had 4 aug 17 cave for the first AOE DoT) that I was leveling faster solo than any group could level me. I should note that I'm leveling up by killing mostly greens and blues right now, and have intentionally not gained much XP so I don't lose my farming spot. I body pull 15-30 mobs, AE DoT, kite, DoT, kite, DoT, kite and loot. You need to accumulate roughly 1 plat in order to get armor craft to 750 (I think it cost 800g for me, but don't recall) and with 750 metalwork you'll have access to salvaging anything you need. I won't be home for another 8+ hours as I've just started my work day, but I don't mind giving away gold/items to newer players to encourage them to keep playing. There's a midgard leveling guide that has been posted before, look through the forums if you need ideas on where to level. Cursed Tomb, Nisse's Lair, and Vendo Caverns will do wonders for you guys when it comes to getting decent drops.

ill try to get to you, but 8 hours is midnight for me so i guess earliest we can talk ingame would be on the weekend :-)
That shammy spec sounds fun and might be what ill do as my side character, since us 3 only level our characters when everyone is available so we dont outlevel each other.

1p is crazy much for us right now so not a possibility. ill try and get tailoring up and the secondary skills like metalworking and hopefully be able to salvage our drops. if the numbers in that guide were correct and skill 200-300 is actually enough to salvage level 20-30 stuff.

For leveling guide, we will now try dungeons if they are not overrun by people. other then that we mostly invite a few to our group and ask them were to go to :-)

If you don't want to do dungeons, West Svealand is fantastic for levels 14-23 and generally has high camp bonus on most mobs, since not many people XP there. I still keep a bind at Huginfell because it's pretty close to being the center of Midgard.

I made almost 1000 gold from 1-50 just from the money from mobs and selling the useless items that they drop.

yeah its more like 35-50. 1-35 you make almost no money if you dont hunt for it with farming green mobs, so you can buy an armor thats not grey

35+ you will start seeing some cash flow into your inventory after exp'ing. before that you need to concider farming mobs that drop metal loot.
fx. at lvl 14 you should kill Arachites for exp and metal (not bad sell loot either).
save the metal and ask a crafter in Gna Faste to change the metal into armor/weapons so you can carry on until 20s..
DF is tempting at level 20 but the amount of seals u get as 8 man is not worth it IMO.
Go Vendo, again keep the metal drops for salvage if you can.

also, if you get level 20 weapons, its not a lot of money to get a proc on it, which will supercharge your dps a lot as meelee.

Ive been playing in the same setup as you, Skald, Zerk and Shaman from roughly 10 to 50, we're currently getting our selves sc'd.
I think its been mentioned here a few times, but one of you needs to get a salvaging profession, its pretty much essential.
When you hit 45+ I would recommend going Malmo and killing Protectors/Excutioners as these guys drop chain armour and weapons. When youre close to hitting 50 or even at 50, if you add a RM supp/dark and a Healer with a decent amount of Aug, you can 5 man Malmo (even kill Yar) and rake in some good salvage. We've been making between 500g and 2p a night depending on how lucky we are with the drops. You also have the added benefit of possibly getting Flame Wrought Rings and amazing drops from Yar.
