and thats whats wrong with the modern daoc players. they all assume older groups played it wrong and they are better.
this is probably true in whatever pug or pve guild you were in at age 14, but trust me the good groups played it right. if you think good gamers cant figure out a game in a year, then you need to take a look at yourself.

We're a grp of ppl who has never played together as 8 man or 7 since our second Cleric is MIA
I've played alot with Yeeha on Live, played with Winkz for like a month on a diffrent FS(or atleast i know him from somewhere ) and with the rest of them i think ive never played. We're still doing fine for that i would say - we are by no means the best grp who never looses anything or whatever and still do alot of stupid stuff in RvR but most of the time we just laugh about it and open another Beer(atleast i do!). I couldn't tell if we ever fought Los Boyos in full force without them having to replace a maybe vital Groupmember, and ofc we have never fought Prime, but then again - we had like 5? Evening where we didnt have a replacement so its just whatever for me.
I'm here for the Fun i have playing DAoC, i still win more fights then i loose and thats why its still fun for me.

The Reason Mids are so far ahead is not "just because they are better then the rest of the Server" or "just because they got a Headstart" or "just because they 24/7 all the time" its a mix of all of These and more...

On the whole "LOL 8Mans from 2003 would stomp everyone or not" I dont really care...

Just Enjoy the game, if you wanna get better try to look for advice and be open about it - ask or watch ppl who you think are better then you and try to understand why they are doing what at what time (like in all Videogames or Sports)

just m2c - a very bored cleric at work.

i was in a top tier guild back then aswell and no no1 played the game correct at that time. i wasnt 14 back then either...

meta has developed alot and many many classes/specs that are mandatory nowadays werent even used even by the good groups back then. (hi2u caba/menta/light eld/armsman) ppl ran ****** like pbae box groups and melee assist trains. nearsight was barely used at all. the whole concept of the peel tank was hardly discovered let alone utilized properly. mercs/bm´s didnt use shieldspec. the list goes on endlessly...

if you seriously think groups from 2003ish were as good or god forbid better than good groups nowadays you´re either delusional or dont understand this game at all at any point in time.

Well youre obviously either full of ****** (this would be my guess since your guild all sounded young and immature when i ran with you on genesis) or played on a terrible server. i had never heard of any of your group from way back.
The fact is back then, those old famous groups were better than you and better than most people back then, and if what you say is true then you also played the game "wrong" otherwise you'd have been beating them with your superior setups.
The game did evolve yes, but with patches and nerfs/boosts, but you go ahead and keep looking through your rose tinted glasses that you and your buddies are the only ones who could evolve with the game, when the reality is they would have also evolved and kept on pounding your scrub group into the ground. they were better at the game than you then and probably still would be now.

Is that post about "Los Boyos", good or bad players?
Because if that so, everyone know the answer, they are FreeShard players.

ok your delusional.
here´s a few facts: 2 in our guild are in their mid 20s. everyone else is 30+
we have been playing shards together since roughly 2007ish, before that most of us were in top tier guilds on live since launch.
yes we also played the game wrong back then just like everyone did. metagame is an ongoing process. we simply were ahead of most others used voice coms before most did and had better mechanics. (the little bit you need in this game to perform well)

oh and just fyi alot of oldschool guilds/players are playing uthgard now aswell and none of them has done anything worth mentioning yet. if you were a factor in the oldschool days you would be aware of that.

the mere claim ppl dont get better at a game in 15 years of time is as ridiculous as it can get. lay down that crackpipe you´re high as a kite if you believe that.

you keep saying "i was a top tier guild on live" yet no mention of who or where from the 2002-2004 period
and there may be old school guilds here, but not the groups just old members maybe an officer of old keeping the name flying.
bedlam, dizzy, people like this. they were good groups good players, much higher quality than los boyos lol

What guilds? I played on Excalibur, and I know for a fact that Excalibur had the best guilds in the world at the time, because I remember viewing the global RP heralds, and Excal players were miles ahead of everyone else. I knew a lot of the top guilds, I knew their player setups, I was even briefly a member of Celtic Fist so I was able to participate in the 'high level' RvR of the time, but I don't remember you or any other Fatality/Los Boyos players.

Like I said in a previous post, the meta has evolved to be more efficient in DAoC, but fundamentaly it's played the same. I play and spec my toons almost exactly how I did on Excalibur and I never had any problems on Excal, Genesis, or Ywain (which I only briefly played about 7 years ago, and it was awful). DAoC mostly changed post-ToA, and whether people agree with it or not, the gameplay in post-ToA became less about co-ordination, teamplay and overall skill, and more about who has what item, which is why a lot of people disliked ToA and the population began to decline, eventually resulting in the merging of servers.

Sorry, can't stop laughing.
Don't know if it's because you just said an English server was the best in the world or because you based it on the global RP stats :)

If you want good servers, with good guilds, it's a common knowledge that you have to look for German and French servers, not English or US ones :)

And please, stop with the ToA items nonsence, ToA made the fight more punchy, not having an item didn't make you lose. ToA added spell, /use, made fights last longer but also get them way more energic. It's not because you didn't adapt that it needed less skill or just needed specific items. if you truly believe that you seriously have to stop lying to yourself :)
