Either take a look at the upper or lower left corner of the loading screen - depending on your version - or in the readme.txt file located in your DAoC main directory where you will find some lines similar to this:

No, it is only one update - once it's finished you're at the latest version right away. And you don't have to do it for every single expansion: select the one you want, enter the correct information into your update.date, start camelot.exe, wait for the update to finish, and you're ready to go...

well, i'm not that sure because when i was patching my game there was no 1.89 so i just fully patched my game.

ok so this patch will patch all the way up to 1.89 ?
and i cant use that version on this free server?

I dont know the difference with any of the expansions..
and havnt edited my update.data...

That depends on if you are using the US {1.89} version or the European {1.88} version. If you have the European (noticeable by europe as part of the server IP in the update.dat file) simply patch and go. If you have the US you need to edit the content in your update.dat to one of these lines (according to your expansion). Then start camelot.exe again which will do some minor file changes and you'll be down to 1.88.

Also, you can find out which expansion you are using by looking at your update.dat. If it says

1) .../camelot/... = basic DAoC, no expansion
2) .../isles/... = Shrouded Isles
3) .../atlantis/... = Trials of Atlantis
4) .../catacombs/... = Catacombs
5) .../labyrinth/... = Labyrinth of the Minotaur

Hint: Maybe you want to familiarize yourself with the game first to get some basic ideas?
