Oh ffs, i play an RM as main and have no problems with strafing melees... Stop your QQ ![]() |

Is there a Youtube video that illustrate how you time your strafeing "out of view" and strafeing to get in side/rare styles?
Always want to learn new tricks ![]() |

You got the choice :
Either you try to report every people that does this to you and try to convince that they need to be banned for using this strategy that you consider a bug abuse Or you try to learn counter measure and get better at the game It really is your choice Milia, Drood < Acorns Passion >

This debate has been going on for 15 years.
It's in the game. It's not a bug. If anything, it's an unintended feature. It works thematically with the game. It's perfectly legal. It improves the game. It won't get changed. Deal with it. |

That's DAoC, learn and adapt.

I did a quick google search for strafeing/run through
Strafe/run through (ofc alot about timeing) Rare style: sprint+ forward+backwards (spesially easy if OP is stick) If OP only back paddles just sprint through + face Sidestyle: sprint+forward+strafe+ face/mousepan but i didnt get any wiser on how i counter it except backpaddel, unstick, and use mousepan any easy counter against strafers? best would be if i get to use there strafing against them to get sidestyles on them. enlighten me plz ![]() |

Why can't you give the OP a straight answer? What is this toxic ****** behavior here?
People act so entitled and full of elitism like they've eaten the wisdom with a spoon. Pathetic. |
|
The straight answer is to get better and know how to counter it... Like alot already wrote... |
|
Its definetly not working as intended and I believe that anyone who does it is well aware that it is an exploit. Yes, there are ways to counter it but all of them will cost you precious time.
|
|
It is working as intended, though. This is how it was back in the day. Super frustrating as a caster, since even /face won't work if they time it right, but it's the way this worked, unfortunately. |

Run through....
the tool used by the unskilled. run through is the by product of a non-collision detection game. is it a bug? no..... exploit...not really. when the developers created the game they was a unintended consequence of non collision.... and the first time the coder saw "Run Through" in action im sure he /face palmed and made a comment along the lines of "i didnt mean for it to get manipulated like that" run through is ONLY used by those lacking of skill and a need to be good at a game they are not. can run through be used? sure... are you a absolute douchbag for taking advantage of a unintended by product of a non collision game. absolutly.... no honor, no respect. some people have spent there 15 years in DAoC learning the exact mechanic on how to attack every time, then run through you and cause you to not attack. is there a counter to it,.....yes.... but its a shame some one has to learn to fight people abusing a un intended mechanic. any one else who says or thinks otherwise is a abuser of the mechanic. edit... this is not called a strafe bug.... strafing is a different mechanic, and there is a counter mechanic used thay sometimes the game calls you out of strafing and you miss |

lmao. its not bug abuse. its called skillful movement and has been part of the game since the first day of beta. Bigboyo <Los Boyos el Grande> Grand Overlord of Midgard and Slayer of Virgins
|
|
It's not technically a bug, it's just unintended behavior, one which they obviously tried to discourage through the use of misses/style cancels on strafing. Is it part of skill? I guess. |
|
It was years ago, that this switched from "lol, poor exploiter" to "see my uba skill!!!!!".
So you simply have to deal with all the professionals and daocs poorly programmed code. Adapt, or add/zerg them. |
