there was, there is yet, and there always will be a well set bunch of people dueling @ amg emain. they know each other across all three realms, by name, by guild, irc, whatever (arranged duels...blablabla). they fight their crappy 1vs1 in peace and harmony, whileo other realms solo's waiting their turn, watching. if your in the circle, go stand there watch, nothing will happen to you. you're outside of it, beware of getting gangbanged by 2 realms, while your own realmmate flames you, cause of your 'adding'.

in the past there was only a minimal enforcement by the staff, maybe just every year or two, comes the hammer...nonetheless, 2 days later you will the see same guys back at their well suited place.

Sounds a lot like illegal RP farming to me, espacially if they use IRC to make appointments.

That's ridiculous. At the very least, they could choose an out a view location instead of the busiest and most visible location in the entire game.

You will eventually get your crappy passive x-realming when the server dies and no one is left but the 8v8's playing counterstrike in the frontiers all day, but until then deal with having enemies in the frontier.

If i see a 1vs1, i would respect it. The reason is. If i have an 8vs8 i am happy too, if we can finish it.


But to write it from the beginning. DAoC is RvR, that is realm vs. realm. Keep-Fights, Zergs, Relics, MG fights. I can and want to live with that. Zerging and massfights are cool. I played from time to time Chars in a Zerg (normal RvR) too. Please try to keep your emotions back, if you read about 1vs1, 8vs8. It is not X-Realming oder Cheating. It is DAoC on a different way, it´s harder, you need your own skill, teamplay, good stuff and a lot of effort to stand your ground there. You can´t play while playing with your child, watching TV and chatting with that sexy Firbolg, that is maybe a rl woman. That don´t mean, that these players are not good, a lot of them really are. But they use less effort. A mistake in a 80vs80 is not that hart like in a 8vs8, or 1vs1, simply to understand. (it is a different feeling, a different way to play your own chars)

And for sure, i think 8vs8 or 1vs1 or whatever "small-fights" is romantic too. If we watch Troja, 300, King Arthur wanna see mass-fights, but we don´t take care about the zerg individuals. We wan´t to see the fights between the strong groups and fighter too. I don´t wanna see Legolas who fight a "named" Ork and get zerged from 100 other orks. I wanna see the dramatic fight when Oberyn Martell fight against the Gregor Clegane and not hundreds of soldiers who kill Oberyn. (maybe you now, what i mean) And now i stop my bad examples. I sit at work and my employeers can´t understand, what i do here in break time.

No one has to stop, or let a weaker "enemy" alive, when he has a fair fight against an opponent. But it is def. not against honor and a knights "codex", when there is a numbered fair fight.

I respect the 1 vs 1 in RvR , but most of the players on Uthg dont , because they re a bunch of rps whores with no respect for realm players , sad..but thats the naked truth , and 50% of em are retarded ..so yeah.. that doesnt help either .
