WARNING: LONG POST

In response to server concerns of Midgard domination (and having witnessed this domination first-hand) I have decided to re-roll on Hibernia.

After reviewing many of the Hibernian experiences and opportunities here on the forums since launch, and in consideration of my own long-term aspirations here on Uthgard, I’ve also decided that it’s time for me to step up to lead a guild.

This thread is intended to notify Uthgardians of this re-roll opportunity and to begin the process of recruiting those interested in participation.

ABOUT ME:
• 32yo single full-time employee based in Virginia, USA
• Available MON-FRI between 6PM-12AM ET and flexible weekends usually
• Strong, mature leader with a very chill attitude

MY DAOC BACKGROUND:
• Began playing DAoC in closed beta (2001) through NF and stopped playing around release of DR
• Served in multiple, short-lived 8v8 guilds, bouncing from opportunity to opportunity (unfortunately never finding that forever home)
• Drove an 8-man as a pac healer to RR7+ during the summer of 2004 before leaving to play WoW with college buds
• Still amped about Uthgard 2.0 and seeks to establish a long-term guild with high aspirations for RvR domination

CURRENT MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
My approach to forming this guild may seem “over the top” to many at first. While I intend to foster a very relaxed and mature guild culture, it’s important for me to first ensure that we have FOUNDING MEMBERS that share common interests in contributing to the long-term success of the guild. Please note that these requirements will ease over time AFTER we’ve assembled a strong foundation/core of members.
• You play at least 2-3 hours often on weekdays between 6pm ET and 12am ET (3+ hours and flexible weekends is favorable)
• You have a working headset/mic to leverage VOIP (e.g., Discord); This will be our PRIMARY form of communication and will be mandatory
• Stable hardware and internet connection
• An interest in playing with the same consistent group from 1-50 (and beyond)
• Optimistic and collaborative attitude
• Desire to destroy enemy players with new internet friends

LAUNCH PLAN:
• 2/9: Announce opportunity and begin to receive interested applicants
• 2/10 – 2/16: Realm transfers as needed; Qualify applicants; Enlisted members prepare for 2/17 launch
• 2/17: Form guild; Guild meeting w/ introductions and ideation; Guild event
• And Beyond… #1 Level to 50, #2 templates, #3 destroy enemies (w/ plenty of fun shenanigans in between)

Applicants during this initial “launch phase” will be considered up until the night of Thursday, Feb. 16th. Please note that Uthgard has a 7-day wait period to transfer realms if you do not intend on deleting any characters preventing you from playing Hib.

Once you’ve applied, please check back regularly, as I intend to respond to all applicant private messages within 12-hours/ASAP. I will also be sure to update this post with any frequently asked questions for those seeking additional information, although please consider that we’re just getting started and some answers may be TBD until we’ve assembled and discussed as a guild.

Applicant FAQs:

• I already have a Hib character, can I still apply?
Yes, HOWEVER, the intent will be for us to group and level up TOGETHER. If playing a pre-existing character prohibits you from grouping with us on a regular basis from the beginning, you're encourage to roll an alt character to level up with us. But I'm happy to discuss further, as this can be very "case-by-case" basis. To be even more specific, my goal is to have AT LEAST a consistent 8-man group that is always grouped/rolling together. If we get 16 or 24+ on board, I'd like to ensure we have a sufficient balance of roles/classes available as well (i.e., so we're not constantly PUGing critical roles within our groups.)

Recruitment Updates:
2/9 - After only a few hours I already have double-digit interest! Keep the applications coming! I'm willing to spend all weekend reviewing!
2/10 - I'm sorting through over 30 different applications at the moment! Keep them coming! A lot of really great players reaching out, so this is very exciting! I'm at least able to read most of the private messages as they come in, but I likely won't be able to respond until after work today (6pm EST) -- thanks in advance for your patience! I will likely prioritize those who are considering realm transfer first given the 7-day timing for that to occur!
2/11 - Went golfing this morning, and then spent all afternoon responding to PMs from tons interested in applying. Right now we're at least aiming to build a solid 16+ out the gate! Currently seeking those interested in a NATURALIST role. Only a couple more spots should round us out nicely unless more folks apply. Thanks for checking in and happy hunting!
2/12 - We're close to filling the 2nd group and then I'm going to close recruitment after 16 confirmed members, at least until we're a few weeks in (or if any attrition occurs within those few weeks!)
STILL OPEN: x1 Bard, x1 Druid, Hero/BM (I'm in discussions with enough applicants to fill all remaining Hero/BM positions, but still awaiting responses! First come, first play!)
2/13 - I'm going crazy looking through all of these applications! I'm in discussions with multiple players for these last 3 spots in the 2nd group - Bard, Druid, Hero - but I'll still review applications and consider them if you meet requirements and are faster on the reply button! I'm going to have to consider what options there are for those who applied and won't be able to join with these first two groups. I simply don't know if I'd be able to organize/manage that large of a guild all at the beginning, but we'll see!
2/16 - Filling last spot this evening (hopefully!) 8pm/9pmEST - 11pm/12amEST play time is preferred. Still taking applications until we kick things off TOMORROW EVENING (finally!) We're all about quality over quantity! Cheers!
2/17 - Recruitment is officially CLOSED as SIXTEEN (16) new Hibernians join forces this evening! If you're still interested in joining or participating, I'm still happy to accept registrants. I'm going to be keeping our guild roster capped at 16 for now until we can have further discussions as a guild about our roster size. I would be down but my duo partner isnt down on rerolling and seeing as there is a mysterious 7 day timer on realm switching i'll have to pass

The response has been a bit overwhelming, so please be patient as I work through replying! There are a lot of great players out there who're interested in making this happen, which is awesome!

Thanks for the kind words, Asinger!

For now, the guild name is yet to be determined. I have a handful of ideas, but I want to ensure that those who form this guild from the outset have the opportunity to weigh-in on its name.
