So it's not about "red is dead", but it's about "get the points" for you?
Poor you

Don't argue with idiots - they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

At the start of the server you can not expect people to respect any fights. Even if people know and have played with you before. As the server matures you will see more people start doing this. Still to early to expect a 1v1 to not get run over.

You better find a good spot to do these at because you will have no mercy at the amg for awhile.

On Percival dueling was run kinda like Fight Club. You didn't talk about it nor did you complain about it when you got interrupted. A server of 2 - 3k players and a miniscule fraction of that actually reads the forum so you have to do your math here. Personally I don't care about dueling or respecting dueling. I will add fights and help my fellow realm mates. I'm not playing this game for your enjoyment, I do it for mine. So, respect that, eh?

I've always felt that people who wanted nice clean uninterrupted duels in MMORPGs were choosing the wrong game genre. The thrill of never knowing what is going to happen and having to react to that is part of what makes MMOs different from FPSs and such, but there's always this segment of the population that insists on inserting FPS gameplay into MMOs. Succeeding in an MMO as a solo player should be about learning when to engage and when not to engage in order to increase your chances of finishing and walking away from a fight.

Just because that is part of your thrill, doesn't mean soloing and 1on1 doesn't constitute the thrill for others. You can of course ignore or reject their plea; but it's kinda pointless to tell them they are playing the game wrongly, simply because authority is not given to you to determine how DAoC ist supposed to be played.

I understand that, but they are basically playing the game "wrongly". They're free to do so, but it's always gonna be a headache because what they're really looking for is a game where you fight other players in a controlled environment, i.e. an FPS. I wouldn't go play a FPS and complain about the lack of RP or the lack of character development or that teams are always even or that there's no large-scale persistent world, but people who want that sort of play very much do come to MMOs and complain constantly that they don't have access to a nice neat controlled environment. Go ahead and torture yourself if that's what you want, but you might be happier playing a different type of game.

Then with that said, there's absolutely no reason to make a thread like this. Telling me I am playing the game incorrect because I don't respect a 1v1 going on from... ahem... PEOPLE DUELING AT THE BLOODY AMG?! SERIOUSLY?! You want people to respect duels when you are doing that at a milegate? Granted, this may be a one time thing but someone has actually come across my alliance and said - Lol they're trying to do duels at AMG. What?! Seriously?! Odin's balls, who thinks this is a good idea?
