Wife wants to play too, but we share a pc at different times

My wife has been watching me play for 2 weeks now and wants to play as well. This wouldn't be an issue normally, except she wants to play Hibernia because, and I quote "They live in the faerie land".
Here's the thing, we share one pc with two logins on windows. So I'm wondering if she sets up an account here on Uthgard that will play on Hib, will it be considered a breach of the Rules? I don't want to risk having this account banned. |

I totally get that, which is why I made this post. I have no intentions of x realm. I played Hib when DAoC first came out, then switched to alb for years, which is why I'm mid now. She has a laptop that I doubt will play this, but i guess i'll have to give it a shot.
As for another pc for her, it's in the works but money is tight so theres that. |

Hopefully a developer , gm, staff, who ever will chime in, give you a heads up if it's cool or not

DAoC doesn't put much strain on the PC's CPU but it does stress the Graphics card. It will probably work fine on her laptop. What graphics card does it have? |

99% certain you will get banned if you play two different realms using same IP or pc.
And seriously, how on earth would they know if you are someone who's wife wants to play diff realm, or you x-realming? Albion and having fun

Banning someone based on IP address is really advanced stupidity (not calling you stupid!) when most people don't run with static IP's. MAC address checking is not possible either as it's only visible on your local network (unless the uth.dll file does some fishy sniffing). This question in hand could be quite hard to regulate as many families play DAoC but in different realms as they played it live many years. |

Uthgard has a trojan inside. They know what you are doing.
This is against the rules and is considered crossrealming. Reminder to Self: Quality over Quantity, what is the Value here?

Live is not Uthgard, and you have to look at it from their perspective. They have a policy of no x-realming, how on earth will they enforce this if everyone can just say: "My wife is playing now"? I played some with my daughter on Mid, then deleted my chars and moved hib. And without playing her chars on Mid I also deleted them shortly after and remade with same names on hib, because I knew it could pose a problem. She stopped playing sadly, so account is not being used, but was still 2 accounts in same household in different realms so had to do it. Albion and having fun

It's not related to "live is not uthgard" as I mentioned specifically that it's hard to regulate and enforce in the first place and I said that banning based on IP address or MAC (which is not possible) is stupid as both of those things change and can be change when needed to. I do look at their perspective, that's why I said it's very hard to find if someone is actually cross realming and have multiple accounts. Imagine if you have 3 teenage boys who plays in uthgard and you play yourself too in different realms at random times (sometimes online at the same time etc.). Then you have 4 different computers that appear to have same ip outside of their own lan. Of course they all could be banned for the sake of it, this is their server but it raises an interresting question nevertheless. |

I actually have a similar 'problem'.
It would be nice to hear from the devs how they will react to this situation. Since we only have one computer to play from, we will NEVER be on two realms at the same time. But will being on different realms at different times be a problem? Na Fianna Dragun / The Dark Alliance

this is still considering x--realming, there is no way for the staff to know if you a playing both account and just wants to play on 2 diffrent realms without useing the realm transfer. if you and your "wife" wants to play daoc at diffrent time, just find a realm both of you can live with and there wont really be a problem. |

Remember they put a 1 week timer from going to one realm to another.
if that is the case then the same thing should happen if 2 different people in the same house hold wants to play 2 different realms . it would be just too easy to break that 1 week timer with the suggestions above. making the 1 week timer pointless. |
|
I believe she can play another realm, as long as she won't play at the same time, and as long as she exists.
It is forbidden to own more master accounts, or switch realms avoiding the timer for yourself (aka same person + more realms), I don't believe it force other people™ to not play another realm than yours. Last edited by Caemma on Feb 10, 2017 15:38, edited 1 time in total.
There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

No have to play on same realm otherwise its cross realming Reminder to Self: Quality over Quantity, what is the Value here?

Be more specific please.. There is literally no rule that tells about having to force other -real- people of your surroundings to play your same only realm.. There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:
