Master Account general Question regarding Transfers

Hello dear staff and/or player base.
I´ve got a somewhat naive question and i will probably get ****** on by any GM that should read this, but this really bums me out. I´ve come to understand that every person playing is only to have their account(s ?) within one realm though different people could access my computer and play from it in different realms with their adjounted accounts. now...i´d genuinely love to play alb from time to time since i love some of the classes, but i favour midgard. so i play midgard. now the only chance i have to play alb officially when i really have an urge to do so is by either deleting every char(which at some point i would never concider given the level of my characters) or waiting for 7 days. i get that i can still play mid and that is all very well, but how would that help me if i decided on say a thursday that i wanted to play alb on the weekend (for whatever reason)? i guess my more direct question would be: why create such a long delay on the transfer? why not make it something like a day, so i can rather "spontaneously" decide with my friends to have some fun in another realm. is there any reasoning other than to prevent realm hopping? i can obviously not speak for every player, and a more loose approach might be exploited by people with way more time on their hands than me, but i would feel that those transfer times / the possibilities to play other realms are very limiting/limited. i really don´t see myself (and i never have on the official server) playing on one realm, taking an objective and then switching realms to take said objective back. which as i understand it seams to be a major decider regarding this rule. with kind regards, Seppel |

1. Prevent X-Realming. 1 day really doesn't properly cover that in my opinion. 2. Prevent relic hopping d-bags. I'm all for some temporary, shorter, one way transfers from Mid to Hib to get the server population a little more balanced though. Maybe this is something the staff will consider. The Uthgard staff (and community) has 10 years experience with a freeshard DAoC. Back on Uth1 we WERE allowed to have multiple accounts which could be different realms. I, like most players, had 3 accounts with level 50s on all 3 realms. I used my 3 accounts to switch between the realms for the weekly realm-wide dragon raids. Other's used to switch to the realm which held the most relics for the RvR bonuses. Realm hopping was a wide spread thing. Uthgard 2.0 want's to avoid that while still allowing folks to switch realms from time to time if they really really want to. 7 days seems like a reasonable gate.

well i started playing when daoc came out and have been on and off it for that time, but i`m certainly still a casual in your guys` eyes (i can count the number of dragon raids i participated in on both hands i guess). therefor i struggle with identifying problems that might be clear cut to you. i just think that there would certainly be ways to adress issues like these without the 7 days timer. i want to point out that im arguing from a perspective of selfishness and my interest lies in my style of playing obviously which would not include any of the problems pointed out by you guys.
for the example of "relic-hopping" one possible way to adress it would be to have a timer on the bonuses from said acquired relics, in the same way you have the transfer timer now. it`s just a matter of willingness to put work into these things or not (crafting the ideas), and really what i would like to know is if there IS possible debate over this? please refrain from telling me that uthgard is their (the devs) server and they can do whatever they want. i am fully aware of that and am only trying to start a conversation about an issue that is dear to me. i am also aware that they can behave in whatever fascist way that they would please and can ban me for whatever behaviour they deem dissenting. thank you for your time. with kind regards, Seppel |

I was on alb raised a armsman to level 19 and an Infiltrator to level 11 and a necro to level 9.
I deleted all and went to mid, raise 1 savage to level 10 delete cause bad race and starting stats, then another savage to level 13. Maybe total it was around 60 hours of play. Now I deleted and went to Hibernia. (+40 hours of play) to get a ranger to level 24 mainly soloing. Total 100 hours. I put a realm transfer on last night to go to Albion in 7 days, in case I want to, and I dont want to lose my progression again. In case in 5 days I realize i do not want to play on alb I will cancel my transfer, and I will reinitiate it again when its available. So since I know that I like to play on all realms, and I sometimes need to switch to get my fix of Alb play for example, then I constantly do the realm xfer. I cancel it whenever I change my mind, but I always have a realm transfer on-going. I think you have the same condition as I and you just cant 100% focus on 1/3rd of the game, you wanna have a bit of everything. Maybe its because you want to know thy enemy, or you like to master all classes/races, or you need a change of atmosphere, maybe it is because you love the challenge, the restarting, or the new mathematical calculations. Then just do what I do, I think its a solution that will work for you and will not bring more ideas in the storm for the devs. Reminder to Self: Quality over Quantity, what is the Value here?
