We have a very unique ecosystem here in Uthgard 2.0:
Server cap of 4000 with a mostly full server in EU and NA primetime Old Frontiers Classic Only Zones Limited BGs Harsh Crossrealm restrictions Paper DAOC theorycrafting has always been based on the ecosystems of live and Uthgard beta. Centering around low populations and the gameplay that revolves around them. We are looking at an entirely different animal. Server populations higher than what the live servers are capable of. Addition to that there are not many different zones to "spread" the population out. With high concentrations of players and limited places to go in an RvR game I theorize that RvR will revert back to Zerg v Zerg with many 8man groups roaming around like in the golden years of DAOC. RvR will not be limited to the 1.65 FOTM classes. This past weekend saw more RvR action from Hibs and Albs. As the populations continue to hit 50 I believe we will see brutal fighting in the frontiers, many long battles and RPs to be gained with DF switching hands constantly. The first few weeks of RvR were unbalanced. I sure as hell disagree with the notion that uthgard 2.0 was "won" by mids. This server will continue to grow and evolve as power ebbs and flows between the realms. These are just my thoughts though. Could be completely off-base. But my predictions about the state of RvR have been coming true. My 2 copper. Nitholiak VonSchlichten - Evil Necro Farmer - Grandmaster Tailor

Yea, so far really enjoying all the activity. It was definitely frustrating the previous week when it seemed only a few groups of albs and hibs were out to push back against the mids but this weekend (even though I missed a good portion of it) seemed to really be a great return to classic rvr.
Here's hoping for continued action in the coming months. <Blood Feud>

I also agree. Seems like so many people want to whine and complain about the current state instead of giving everyone time to level and get their templates finished. I'm looking forward to some good classic rvr just like in the glory days. Leveling in this game is nowhere close to the speed of most current mmos which a lot of people seem to have forgotten. Just hope the population continues to stay high like it is right now.

I'm looking forward to the variety of different fights that Uthgard will have. I think those that are looking for straight 8v8 will be disappointed. I had an amazing fight last Friday when Prime, Buds, and Dark Dawn took some Mid keeps and about 4-5 mid 8 mans came out to fight us. That reminded me what Dark Age is all about!

FOR ARTHUR!!! |

First of all, I doubt that the cap will only be 4000. It's higher than that now.
This is a very populated server and RvR tends to be different on populated servers. I played on Merlin back in the day and we had a LOT of large fights there, not focused on 8v8. Uthgard 1 was a small pop server so 8v8 was more common. There will still be 8v8 here, IMO but it will be dwarfed by the Zerg vs zerg action. I expect Relic fights very frequently. I was Gil DaTroll on Mid Merlin. |

with 4k ppl there's gonna be action everywhere. there already is. even running around in alb frontier, which used to be the dead zone, I've seen hib and mid smallmans at chokepoints and checking xp spots. rvr dungeons, summoners hall, df all populated. I can only imagine what it will look like in a month.

This server will be even better than live at that point.

Do you guys see the population sticking at 4k primetime? I have noticed a bit of a dip in player numbers online this week, but i am also US eastern prime time so may be missing the most populated times.

This is true, been awhile since I have been in a queue during NA primetime. Seems the higher cap has helped and most likely some folks have left. <Blood Feud>

it's possible a bit of the hype has died down, but the cap increase certainly helped. people aren't afraid of the massive queue anymore so they're logging in and out. what you're seeing is more like the actual population I imagine. two weeks ago ppl would be trying to stay logged in or get logged in extra early so they could play when they wanted to. now it's like it oughta be where you can log in for 15 minutes if you have time to play. |

Once people catch up to those that are already at 50 it will be packed to the brim with every sort of group/zerg possible and thats going to be f'ing great.

Until people start complaining about another group adding or something of the like. Will be interesting and hopefully fun for all. <Blood Feud>

I love how its stated that when you get killed as a gray, its okay, but you join in a fight... It isnt fair. Hahah |
