Animist - lvl 47 Not biased at all ![]() |
|
Ive played every Hib class to 50, some multiple times, some only once ![]() Trust me when i say, Animist is not a cakewalk if you go Creep spec and try to dungeon. Its hard as nails doing solo in the long run. Wiping to people running thru your forest of shrooms will happen almost all the time. Especially now when the server cap is higher. AoE classes are the same, when runners come and you just BOOM BOOM BOOM and notice it too late and you have 10 adds on your face, and the FG is like... #)"(¤)(")¤ ![]() The only solution is to forget Creep spec, if you want to dungeon, Arbo+DD pet is better, and or even Verdant works better then Creep in dungeons solo. People tend to think Anis are just drooling 24/7 with shrooms, but i can assure you it is not. It might be easier to kill yellow/orange/red solo, but due to other players just running and thinking only about their own lives, Anis have died.... so so many times to shroom agro. Adding the statement "move your shrooms" , Feels really really bad, after so many deaths. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

Some people are so dumb....
People play animist for a variety of reasons, but id day the most obvious are that they are relatively easy to level and can level quicker than most other classes. Now, how does this work? It's quite simple, you get your shrooms and you stack them all up in the middle of a spawn so they kill everything. That's why people want to play this class. You cannot then tell animists that they cannot play their own class to its full potential. It would be like telling an enchanter or mana eld that they cast use pbaoe or AF shields. Or like telling heroes they can't use weapons and have to make do with shield only. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.
You mustn't assume that your personal situation is a reflection of every other person that has logged in to Uthgard. |

And why would that be? If straying from my full potential means that other people can have a good time, I'll gladly do that. If everybody always used 100% of their resources, things would turn to ****** in no time. If as a Ranger I have full endurance and full HP, I should pull. But that doesn't mean I'll start stealing everyones mobs. Also again: as an animist there's almost always a spot or an angle where your shrooms don't interrupt other peoples gameplay. It only comes down to: dont be a dick, don't feel entitled, be fair. |
|
Mate, you can do whatever you want to do. You can AFK and kill 1 mob every 10 minutes for all I care. What I'm saying is you can't tell people to suppress themselves. If they aren't breaking any rules then your only option is to deal with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.

Its just not as easy as you make it out to be.
Huge player base + small realm = limited possibilities to make progress. By playing an animist to his full potential in, say, Darkness Falls, you will "suppress" people just the same. Maybe it's time to put aside the entitlement-issues and the authority-issues and just learn how to share, even if it's just a bit. And seeing how people are not able to do this, there should be rules against extreme forms of egoistical behaviour. I can guarantee you that most people will just be ****** at anyone occupying several xp spots.. and they will move on. Some people will, as most people put it so gently, QQ on the forums. Just develop some sense for decency and let people have their way and their share of the cake, even if it's just a small bit. People are still gonna cry, sure.. but instead of playing to your full potential, why not just lay back a bit and do 70%, 80% from time to time. In concrete terms: you don't have to chain pull green to blue, 3 DF spots as an animist by putting your shrooms in the center of the spot. Maybe just take two or one. I'm not expecting anyone to change their behaviour. That's fighting windmills. I'm simply convinced that having rules that everybody needs to agree upon would lead to a less toxic environment. |

if you exp next to an animist stack you are not very smart
DF does not have that many low level camps and if you are low level you will do better in a regular dungeon |
|
If you stand near a bomb when its about to detonate, thats not very smart either.
Yet I still tend to blame the person who placed the bomb, rather than the people who are forced to evade it. Sorry for the ridiculous analogy, but how else are you gonna understand? :p |
|
Wrong analogy....
Its more like a blender. The shrooms are a Tool to kill mobs. So if the ani puts his blender into the open, where evrybody will tangle their hair and clothes in it, you have a very irresponsible ani. But if the ani puts his blender aside, he is not to blame for all the idiots sticking their hands into the blender. |

thats better, i agree.

So let me get this straight...
1. You arrive at a camp someone else is already 'camping'. 2. You decide to XP at the same camp and next to the other person 'camping'. 3. You want the other person to accommodate your presence and move away. It sounds like you should be the one moving. |
|
Pull High Con Purple Mob to your camp and if their shrooms are place inappropriately... problem solved.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() EDIT: Animists can position their pets in spots that do not pull aggro or attack everything in sight. dont let them fool you. Semi-Quit~ WTB QoL

No.. but it's good that you like lists, it allows for a very, very slow explanation, here: 1. You arrive at a camp, which is being camped by a rather high lvl animist. 2. You tell yourself "Well alright, let's move on!". 3. You arrive at a different camp, which is also in range of said animists shrooms. 4. You find a bunch of other players, aimlessly oscillating from camp to camp in lookout for a camp they can farm. 5. You realize the animist placed his shroom literally camping 2-3 at once. Often times the animist won't be able to efficiently pull enough mobs so that all camps are emptied. But you can still not pull from this camp, because whenever you pull, the Shrooms will shoot the crap out of the mobs. Sure, there's decent animist players who sit in the corner of a room, place shrooms that can hit only one camp and farm well enough. These decent, cool guys exist. And it's actually the majority of animist players. But then ![]() ..there's Supershroomer xXDeVasTatRXx, and he does what he's allowed to do, with no regard for anything else but the rather vague rules that won't allow you to appeal him.
Yea. It's sad that some people either delude themselves into thinking that they can't, or are simply lying about it. |

Not sure there is a simple answer to this.
I was happily in a duo with an animist and someone dragged a whole chain of mobs onto us as they wanted our spot. Equally I can see how shrooms (especially in a dungeon) can create issues the other way. Fact is whatever class you play - respect is needed for other players. In game (as in life) there are a mix of people. Many decent but some selfish, some thoughtless and some plain daft. Na Fianna Dragun

Okay, 80% of us agree somewhat on:
- Animist can position their pet in a adequate or inadequate location - Inadequate location = preventing other classes from being able to share a spot /// camping more than 2 respawn points at once /// going menta+bard+animistx3 and pulling everything in 3 rooms! - Animist which position their pet in an inadequate location shall be told to move even if they are part of a group - If said animist and/or group does not move and still leeches after you have told them that you want to be able to share the spot (more so in DF), you appeal any the animist and hope for a GM to talk to the group asap. /appeal NorajQQzlolOP BullSiRockxXx (full name of animist in farming reroll session) is harassing my exp bubbly environment, please can you try and reason with his group and politely ask them to move before i start getting angry and getting banned for inappropriate language, i only have 20 mins in DF cause midgard will take it back, but they just won't let me get a few seals to be able to buy myself enough arrows to continue playing my ranger Reminder to Self: Quality over Quantity, what is the Value here?
