Help - Spell effects not showing [Bug]

In the game options, I have set the spell effects is to All. But i cannot see the pbaoe spell effects nor the self buff shield effects. When i first log or when i learnt a new pbaoe spell, the effect shows but after a few cast it is gone. Can anyone advise please. Do i need to clear some cache or something. I double checked, this only occurs when i join a group. while solo i can see the spell effects.
