I'm looking for an RP guild, or at least a decent semi-casual guild that supports it. Are any of those kicking around or anyone plan on starting one?

Was a member (though I only played on Mordred for four or six months). Genuinely GREAT people. Enormously fun even if it was post-TOA. |

Shadowclan was a concept taken from another guild Pre-Toa (might have even been the same guild, but I am not sure since I left the game awhile before ToA). We were only Kobolds, could any class, only spoke the language we had made up (which was mostly common but certain letters were not used to make it more interesting) AND we claimed a Territory and for anyone to come into it, we demanded Tribute (which could literally be pretty much anything, as long as it was shiny) and then forced them to leave or we would kill them, which is funny since everyone knew we did it, and some would come into the territory just to get to experience it for themselves. Of course, when you are faced with some 60+ little blue kobolds, all brandishing weapons at you, it makes for a great story to tell.. and we always made sure the other parties knew we were RP'ing and if they were of a Low Level, then we gave the things back and just escorted them off the property. Also, occasionally we migrated to new Territories and Started again. It was great fun and I miss it.. some of the best game times I ever had was with that group.. if I knew that even some of them were starting again, I'd leave the realm and Guild I'm in and switch in a heartbeat.. probably manage to drag a few friends over with me lol.

That was Shadowclan. I played with them pre-ToA on Mordred and did all of the activities described. Great fun, though WoW (which many members moved to) and ToA/NF reduced activity substantially and I ended up quitting shortly after for Shadowbane and Face of Mankind. I wish more guilds had gotten into the roleplaying spirit, but it never seemed to thrive in DAoC as in some other MMOs. If there are any intentions to try it here on Uthgard, do tell.

I agree with you on everything you mentioned.. as I said, I was a part of the guild pre ToA and I loved every minute of it (only reason I couldn't be sure of the name was so long back and bad memory from getting old lol).. but yeah, if anyone knows any of the originals who started the guild, or even enough of the guild period, I would be game for being a part of it again. I loved my Kobold, he was hilarious and the guild was actually very good at making the newer and lower level members feel welcome and a part of everything, not just an add on to the numbers. We even had guild hunts were we would take the lower levels out and help them fight higher cons so they could get better exp and gear (and by help I mean supply assistance when need be such as buffs, or stepping in to make the kill if it was needed, etc etc). So, anyone hears about the guild restarting, a yell my way please lol.

You'd have to reroll Mid and reach out to one of the existing branches to see if they'd sponsor you. Good luck to you if you go that route. It'll be a struggle with just kobbies, though. |
