I downloaded Uthgard last night and was able to eventually log in and create a character. I mainly wanted to see what it was like. I like what I saw, however, when i tried to log in to the Regular ywain server i got an error msg. The msg was something like "The patcher could not start the game executable" Something like that. The patcher would patch like normal but then that was it. It would then just bring up the error msg. and kick it all out.

Can I run Uthgard and Regular Daoc Ywain on the same computer? Not at the same time obviously... I would like to start lvling up some toons on Uthgard and until they are viable (rvr wise) i would like to play my other toons that are already pimped out on the ywain server. thanks you.

You should be able to.

Make sure you make 2 seperate folders of DAOC. One with your original and the other copy where you replaced your game.dll for Uthgard.

Otherwise you will run into problems if you attempt to play Live and Uthgard within the same folder.

Ok, so basically i can copy and paste daoc into another folder and use it for uthgard and the other one for the live version?
Do i have to change the name on the second folder? Noob computer guy here.

Just name them like this:

Dark Age of Camelot (Original)
Dark Age of Camelot (Freeshard)

I copied my daoc file and placed a second one on the desktop and renamed it daoc uthgard. Now when i open the portal for the first time (for updating) i need to do it as administrator. Now when i do this it will not screw up my live folder right?

After it updates I will be going to the setting screen and browsing for the daoc installation. I go to browse and should find the copied folder on the desktop and click on it, right? Then click ok and i should be good?

You have to first set your DAoC installation folder (freeshard folder) in DAoCPortal. It will only patch in that folder then.
