Hey,
back in the days i loved to play my Shadowblade, always solo, never in group. I was very glad to hear that there is a freeshard server relaunching, DAoC has, to me, still the best PVP-System in an MMORPG.

But then i started to think... no buffbots? why? and, the main question:

How do i even barely stand a chance without a buffbot playing a solo?

What do you think? You have experiences? Anybody going solo anyways or is that a foolish concept nowadays?

Your enemies have no buffbot too. You will always need charges and potions to be able to play a solo. That makes solo toons a bit expensive and it would be wise to make a pve toon first. A class needed for raids or something who can solo well like necro, caba, friar, pala.

...my thoughts leading to this thread:
first, ofc: leveling is pure pain, cause no buffs. And i will be forced to beg for groups? hell yeah, excatly what i need.

second, and most important for RVR:
i cannot attack people in groups, cause they are usually buffed from the buff-char in group.

every stealth-class, who manages to get buffs from somebody who can spare them, is superior over the other sthealth chars, who only use alchemy stuff.

it's very expensiv, so i cannot just enjoy the game playing RVR...?!

Oh, and by the way, shadowblade is Midgard.....

I know sb is midgard. I was talking about all solo toons, not only sb. Leveling is not hard at all, zerker spec sb works well in mid melee groups. SB is perfectly viable for soloing at 50 because 90% of the soloers are stealthers.

mid melee groups. There is no Solo in group!

Well, thanks for your answers and yes, i think its getting hardly to a point.

I'd be happy if somebody answering who has real experience how it is in RVR soloing wihtout BB....

It's just normal daoc During beta there was stealth war at amg and no buffbot so it doesn't change anything

buffs has 5000 range in this server, the other stealthers will have the same buffs than you

i didnt play DAoC during beta and i was playing Spiritmaster in the very beginning, with like, the usual, 1 group, rush wall, bomb zerg, die .....

Started Shadowblade with ToA, so i do not know the old frontiers nor how it is to play without buffbot at all.....

Good to know. But will you be able to kill buffed chars out of a group? of course you have to hit PA etc......

Shadowblade gets str/con buff items and alb and hib don't. Hib gets dex/quick otd, and alb gets the ridiculous 9 second evade stun.

Probably if you are one vs one it will be semi fair, so bring a friend and 2 vs 1. Fair in war is dumb.

Allright, that really helps, ty.... i'm getting back into it slowly. As Shadowblade i'm used to suffer...

But one more question: does that mean that remedy is in the game as RR5-Abbality only for Nightshades and SBs get that funny and very useful Shadowstrike? *try to find the sarcasm in that last sentence if you like to......*

There is no Viper as RR in game?

Thats pretty much a personal philosphical question... Back then i didnt add other solo players fights (or kill them after the fight if they win) and they did the same in return.
