Are bards going to have a rough time this patch?

I was watching a lot of the old Uthgard videos, where Bards had Mastery of Concentration/SoS.

Since Bards do not have MoC in this patch, how will they fare against Sorcerer and Healer who do?

Do Bards have any advantage at all?

They are indeed hard at this patch; just a patch later is when they got MoC... Bards are going to take a very skilled person to play effectively this patch.

Yeah, click target on an small inconuu( casting mezz from 1800 in 1,8 secs), behind a pala cafeteer 2 big half ogre mercs and some teurg pets who are comming to you.
ANd lets not talk about SoS.
Or u have grp purge( hopely 2x ) and dont forgot grp purge doesnt pop CC inmunity
Albion skilled preTOA grp should be better than mid and hib ones.
But this is always about skill, as always

You don't have to WIN the mezz to do your job as a CCer. Simply not LOOSE the mezz encounter.

Have group split on inc and push ahead of CCer.

Bard can sneak around or fall back and CC incomming tanks (<10s mezz on det5). Then use that time to demezz anyone who did get mezzed/flank and sneak a mezz from the side on enemy support.

Old days of HEAD ON KAMIKAZE merges were ONE CC could blanket mezz a whole group are of the old days.

Mid fight RE MEZZ on support is what wins fights generally, at least vs "high end groups with competent players".

As someone who used to play a sorc, that range difference in mezzes closes fast when two groups are approaching at speed. I would say in that situation, unless the sorc is maxed dex, great reflexes, and happens to see and target 1st, the insta mezz wins every time.

Then I just target him, stun him, and nuke him down before he can cause any damage with my tiny keen enchanter :)

Bards have to play very defensively. An aggressive opening is only worth it vs full caster grps or if you have a perfect side inc

If bards insta mez on inc, they already lost the fight.

Highly depends on the inc situation and on your/enemy grp setup
There are situations where an instamezz on inc is just terrible and then there are situations in which it could win you a fight.

A good bard will keep his twist going (speed+endo) and kite around the fight never giving up position. This is especially true in small man situations where you are the only healer.
