Hello, new to the server and I didn't see this covered in the rules. How do myself and my roommate both play from the same house given the IP restrictions. Thanks.

1) Play the same realm
2) Must have your own master accounts
3) If one of you needs to AFK -> logout so we don't attempt to validate you are 2 people when someone isn't there.

hello,

i live in a house with multiple apartments, which are connected via ONE internet connection for all to save money.
me and my neighbour want to play on uthgard, we have different appartments.
we may play some time together, but not all the time - we would not have an overview that or if the
otherone plays or is ingame and AFK.

at a glance: 2 Players - same official IP - different local IPs - different apartments

If one of you needs to AFK -> logout so we don't attempt to validate you are 2 people when someone isn't there.

according to the above rule, it is very difficult for us to fulfill this for us.
we can not always knock at the doors or make a call, to check if other one is ingame or afk.

logging out each time one of us go afk will break or loose our groups.

how can we meet the server rules AND both play?

thanks,

supa

It shouldn't be a problem.

But you could always help your neighbour out and log if you know you have to afk for 20+ minutes.

I also doubt many groups would let anyone afk for 20+ minutes. So I wouldn't worry about the groups you might lose.

it depends what the groups does. for example, if group decides a 20 min pause for RL things (eating, walk the dog etc), and then continue xp / RVR thats the usual business.

or you are buildung up a group you often have to wait, and until you have the minimal setup to start , the group members are (semi-) afk.

by anyway, thanks so - we will try.

thx,

supa

Well, yeah. I mean, SOMETIMES I have my dog repeatedly press the same key for me when crafting in later levels. Surely we cannot expect him to reply to GM tells. ;)
